I guess I'm a bit of a fiend. One of the reasons I was so excited about this baby was because it was another excuse to wear a babe. I already have an over the shoulder baby holder and am really wanting a fleece kangaroo korner pouch and maybe an ergo when the babes a bit older. Anyone else?

KK adjustable fleece was my favorite (although not as useful til later bc ds was born in June...), a hotsling (or 2)...ergo for later - ds is 4 and still rides in it. I know I have like 5 more, I need to start organizing!

Ooh, ooh, I am sooo excited about this excuse to buy more carriers.
I started with a New Native pouch with DD that was WAY too big for me although I didn't realize it at the time.
Bought a stretchy wrap that totally intimidated me but eventually figured that out only to have DD get so big so fast that I couldn't use it much.
Then I got my Ergo and that was the BEST. THING. EVER. I used it daily for hours on end.
The Babyhawk Mei Tai came next and that's now our favourite since it's so easy for back carries and so supportive.
We've also experimented with other brands of Mei Tais (Kozy is another favourite), woven wraps (Girasol and Storchenweige), ring slings (I suck at these but hope to get better), correctly sized pouches (my Uppy Guppy from babyfish.ca is super comfy), a Beco ...
I'm a member of our local NINO group (babywearing advocacy group Nine In Nine Out) and highly recommend joining one in your area if you are interested in babywearing, especially if this is your first babe. Ours NINO group was formed when DD was 9 months old and I've learned so much but it would have been great to have when she was a newby and so was I.
Anyway, I'd like to get a good ring sling, probably not a padded one as those really don't work for me, and maybe a Kozy MT before this little one arrives - and I'd like to thin out what I already have.

Oh my goodness, reading the above, I apologize for having so many carriers. It's my one indulgence. We're such a cheap family, but I can't resist a new carrier.

Ohhh, we love slings! We don't even use infant car seats (aka "baby luggage") or strollers. Dh used a running stroller with dd1 to run
but that's it. I would like a new running stroller so I can get my heart rate up a bit, but it's not a necessity.
We started with an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder and used that until it broke when dd1 was 3 yo!
For dd2, we got a Didymos, a fair-trade sling for each of us, a maya wrap for each of us and a fleece kangaroo pouch for dh.
I'm trying to learn how to carry dd2 on my back with our Didymos, so I can carry the new babe in the front with one of our other slings. She also won't fit in front for much longer! She rides on my hip...but still...
I may end up getting a mei tai... We'll see.
Dd1 will be 7 when new baby arrives, so she's very excited about helping out with babywearing. She's a sturdy, strong kid so it will be great! I'm looking forward to it as well!!!

The New Native was recommended, as well as the Peanut Shell, and I'm sure I'll get this red Bjorn

I am totally a carrier fiend too! I have an Ergo and LOVE IT for older babes....hotsling and moby for younger and this time around I think I wanna try a new one like maybe a mei tai....I had a podeagi and sold it cuz it made big ole red marks on my Emmas legs so.....If I HAD to only pick ONE I would choose a Moby because it is so comfy and you can do back, side, front and pouch carries.....

I love the Mom and Me Pouch for early days, and the Sutemi for when the babe gets older! I think I want a pretty Hotsling this time around too, and maybe an Ergo.

I couldn't have done without our ring sling for ds. It was one of the only ways he would nap for months. We have a moby that I couldn't get the hang of but I'd like to try this time. We had an Ergo but ds really didn't like it and it made my back hurt-I have back issues so it doesn't completely surprise me. It was so well made though that I may try one again or get a mei-tai.

I have a New Native pouch and a moby wrap. I love them both! I am trying to talk DH into a Mei Tai.

I've only used pouches and ring slings. They each have their usefulness. I have 2 homemade ring slings (very much like the Maya Wraps) and 1 homemade adjustable pouch (quite similar to the KK ones). I also bought a Kangaroo Korner Adjustable Fleece pouch that I LOVE in the winter. I honestly think it would work fine with a newborn if you have the right size, though I haven't tested that theory. I got it when dd2 was 3 or 4 months old. Overall, my fav is my Maya wrap style ring slings, especially with a newborn. You can get a newborn nice and snug and upright on your chest. It's so sweet! I would like to try a Moby or something similar this next time as well. When the babe gets older, I'm hopeful that I can afford an Ergo. I've always wanted one, but they are so expensive.

I have a new native pouch, an adorable ring sling, a stretchy wrap, an Ergo and a Mei Tai. LOL

I have a peanut shell, a stretchy wrap, and a ring sling. I'm starting to hate the damn ring sling because I just can't figure it out, and the Maya Wrap lady on the dvd just irritates me. I really want to get the ring sling figured out b/c I think it will help with breastfeeding. Like the other pp said, you can snuggle your newborn closely to you.

For dd I used a bjorn for the first few months because its all I had. It was great for walking and going to the grocery store (except for one very big bm that got squeezed out all over the place). We got a ring sling when she was about one and I never did figure it out but she was bigger by then, too. I just saw a new mom with a new native and that looked comfy, I've also heard about Moby wraps for early on so I might get one of those. But, I think I'll have to also get an Ergo or Mei Tei later on because I do really want to do more babywearing with this one. We didn't do as much as I'd have liked with dd--well, I just carried her everywhere and I ended up at the chiro. with back problems.

Okay, I am somewhat obsessed with finding the perfect baby wearing sling/pouch whatever for me. I have not tried a lot, but always baby wear! I love it. I have heard great things about the ergo, and I had a pouch that I used when my son was a newborn and then as he got older we used the baby bjorn. I need to set up a poll for all of you experianced wearing mommas out there. I am interested to know what was your favorite carrier for your infant and then after they were older 3-6 months. I still breastfeed my 11 month old, but I don't cover up when I breastfeed. His big ol' head covers everything anyways!
Is there a way to wear an 18 month old and a newborn, or is that way too crazy and hard your back?

I am not new to slings, really (used to sell them) but am new to USING one. My big thing is to find the perfect ring sling for a newborn. Suggestions? Is it the Maya or should I just make one?

I want a stretchy wrap. I never could get the hang of ring slings or my hotsling. I plan on using my mei tai's again once baby is a bit bigger. But I really want a stretchy wrap for the early months. Does anyone have any reccomendations?
