I know, no surprise there, but dang, the hubris.

This nation acted to a threat from the dictator of Iraq. Now, there are some who would like to rewrite history — 'revisionist historians' is what I like to call them," Bush said.

According to Bush, the revisionists are those who have called into question whether the war was justified inasmuch as the United States has not yet found weapons of mass destruction the president and others cited as one of the key reasons for going to war.
Quote:
"Saddam Hussein was a threat to America and the free world in '91, in '98, in 2003. He continually ignored the demands of the free world, so the United States and friends and allies acted," Bush said. "And this is for certain: Saddam Hussein is no longer a threat to the United States and our friends and allies."

Remember that repetition makes it truth in the minds of the masses. See the masses agree and repeat it themselves as truth, just as they think that Iraq was responsible for 9/11 and that WMD's WERE found!

A third of the American public believes U.S. forces found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, according to a recent poll. And 22 percent said Iraq actually used chemical or biological weapons.
******
''It's a striking finding,'' said Steve Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, which asked the weapons questions during a May 14-18 poll of 1,256 respondents.

He added, ``Given the intensive news coverage and high levels of public attention, this level of misinformation suggests some Americans may be avoiding having an experience of cognitive dissonance.''

That is, having their beliefs conflict with the facts.

Yes, we will revise history to eliminate the scourge of this fascist regime.

Regime change begins at home!...Joyce in the mts.

Ps...hope the link works...I think my connection was not so good.

Whattaloadacrappola! Who's the revisionist here?

I agree, Joyce, the more they say it, the more likely people will believe it.

I can't wait to vote these facist out of office. Every last one of them must go.

It gets scarier and scarier by the minute.

ya right, I think he needs to turn that pointing finger around right back at himself. This man is the most inarticluate we have ever had in the oval office IMO.

they should require IQ and aptitude tests before people are allowed to run for office, yesh!

Bush is building up an incredible ammount of money in his campaign war chest. He will be able to outspend any opposing candidate.

He stands up in public and tells shameless bald-faced lies. People who only pay a little attention to the news are easily fooled into believing his lies.

The only hope of defeating him is for the grassroots to rise up and reject him. We can' t outspend him so we have to do our best to expose him

Our responsibility is to talk to everyone we know about the evil that Bush is doing and to try to influences as many votes as possible against him. The latest Utne Reder has ideas for how to od this:

"If the Bush administration was wrong about Saddam's WMD program, so too was just about everybody else, including U.N. inspectors, the French, the Germans, the Russians and the Chinese, all of whom accepted prior evidence of such a program is beyond doubt," the DLC said in a statement.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Wrong. How f'n far back in history are we going here, the 80's?

In the words of Bill Maher: "are we going to look into why wham broke up?"

I'm so sick of the DLC. They might as well be working for Bush!
