Another biting question - but its more like constant pressure!

DS is teething - 10 months old, etc - and he is biting the bejeebers out of me! But it isn't biting - he doesn't nip! He just uses constant biting pressure while nursing. He leaves two huge teeth marks into my nipple - even DH looks at me sadly and says "I would have weaned by now." My left nipple is so sore - I have tried nursing in different positions to keep the bites from happening in the same spots. But all that has done has created a ring of bites and scabs around the outside. And it is both sides. : I'm in it for the long haul and have no intentions of weaning - I just want some advice (and support?) on how to deal with this, and what I can do to help my nips heal and keep DS happy as this tooth gets ready to cut through.

Oh - and because he is almost ready to cut that tooth, he has stopped eating solids. So we are nursing more often, and longer, because this is the only way he will fill his tummy.

I know just how you feel. My son is one today and he has become quite the biter. He has two upper and two lower teeth which he loves to use to chew my nipples! He has taken to doing it at night when he is actually asleep, but when I take him away, he wakes up and screams!! : I have NO IDEA what to do!! I am sorry I can't offer any advise, but you have my sympothy and support. Keep it up -- you child will love you for it!!!

I don't know if I'm a very credible source yet (still preg with my 1st), but maybe you could pump for a little while until your nipples heal. I look up to mommas like you who stick through it and I hope I'll be able to do the same! Good Luck!
