Eczema Treatments? - Page 2

My daughter has allergies and eczema too. Since she's breastfeeding, I avoid those foods. The eczema has not gone away completely, but is subsiding.

THe allergies told us that the eczema may not be due to food allergies alone. I did make an appointment with a homeopath because they said that she would take some remedies and then hopefully be better! I don't know to much more about that becuase I haven't gone yet, but I can post more after the appointment.

TO soothe the dry skin, I soak her in the tub for a while (30 minutes is recommended.) THen I cover her body (immediately) in Aquaphor ointment which moisturizes and protects. That seems to work well and stop some of her itching. If it get real bad, red and inflamed I have steroid lotion that I can use too.

Also her eczema started on her cheeks and would get worse as time progessed, going all over her body. After visits to docs and the ER we went for allergy testing and she was allergic to egg, dairy, and peanuts which she got through my breastmilk. Try eliminating the top 8 allergenic foods for about a month and see what happens. (peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, wheat, egg, soy, what are the other 2?

Hope that helps.

What are the ingredients in the arbonne oil?

Righty, still haven't found the recipe book, but DH is here and said what he did last time was:
1 part bees' wax
4 parts aloe (we use raw, but I think a gel will work)
3 parts water or some infusion (chamomile or green tea or whatever)
7 parts oil

Heat the oil and beeswax. You can do it together or separately, in a double boiler thingy. We just stick it in a pot on a wire rack inside another pot with some water. Then add the water and aloe (you can leave out the water if you want) slowly while blending it (we use a stick blender, I am sure whatever will work). I did it one time by adding some of the oil mixture to the aloe and then adding it back to the rest of the oil mixture, like you would do with egg custard. It came out nice and smooth that way. I think the beeswax just cools too soon the other way. Anyway, then keep blending it until it is smooth and looks and feels like a lotion. Put in containers and store in the fridge. We also add vit C powder to the water or aloe to help preserve it. I think you can also add some vit E oil. I have to admit, this sometimes works really well and sometimes not so well. So keep playing with the proportions until it works for you.
