My baby finally arrived. A gorgeous little boy, Connor Levi Scott. Born at 10:36 am on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 6lbs 14oz and 20in long. He has dark wavy thick hair. We had a fast hospital birth, only 5hrs long!

Isabella is the most awesome sleeper EVER, but postpartum recovery is kicking my derriere. Homebirth; 13 hrs start to finish; I impatiently pushed her out like a torpedo & received some tears along an inner labia from one of her shoulders; I lost about a quart of blood and am on bedrest; husband and I BOTH developed colds the day after her birth (ARRGH!); at 9 days pp, I am developing a low-grade fever and backache every evening, so planning to see an ob/gyn this week for a check-up, blech. I almost miss being pregnant! But looooove this baby. Bit of a "Twilight Zone"-feeling though, because she looks so much like her big sis did at birth. Same baby?!?!

A quick and intense unmedicated hospital birth thanks to DH, a great and bossy midwife, and supportive nurse. I thought anything would be preferred to the slow progessing back labor I had with DD1, but I discovered that quick and intense was actually harder for me to get through! But such sweet relief and a wonderful reward when she was born.

Baby Ian has arrived!!

Hi, Amy's friend Susan here posting the news for Amy and John!

Amy was admitted to the hospital last night where they inserted Cervidil to get labor started. It worked well and produced strong contractions. Amy went to sleep with the help of some Ambien and Morphine, but she was awakened at about 4am by a frantic nurse. Ian wasn't tolerating the contractions well. His heart rate was going down with each contraction. Therefore, they stopped labor and realized that a c-section was the only option. She was prepped at 6am and Ian was born at 7:15am. Turns out he had a very short cord and had descended as far as he could. There was just no way this baby was coming out vaginally.

Weight: 7lb, 12oz
Length: 20 1/2 inches.

Amy and Ian are both doing well. Ian latched on like a pro and has been breastfeeding most of the morning.
