Any special plans for Mother's Day?

Just wondering what everyone has planned for tomorrow.

After Mass we're going to visit our grandma's and then out to dinner with MIL et al.

Since my mom is moving to AZ today, I won't get to see her.

I just want to sleep in and have someone else empty the dishwasher and maybe do a load of laundry. At this point, my wishes are very simple.

Nothing. No family nearby to celebrate with, no dh to pamper me. The kids are too young to get it. My friends and I were all going to get babysitters and go out, but we all decided we were to broke this weekend (payday is Monday for all of us), so I guess I have nothing special planned. Maybe I'll take myself and the kids out for something special. I don't know.

We're going to church and then after that getting take out from some resturant (not sure where yet) and taking DS to the park and having a picnic. Then we'll come home and sit around doing nothing because DH is on call for the fire department.

Dh made reservations at the Magic Kingdom for lunch. We only live an hour away, yet we hardly ever take time out to go.

Tiffany, that sounds like a lot of fun!

When I told Dh I'd like to sleep in, he laughed. I had to tell him I was serious! Nothing special here...maybe we'll go for a hike or a short canoe trip.

Alisha you definitely should do something cool with your kids. Maybe go get ice cream or go to CEC or some neat treat.

Tiffany, I'm only 30-40 mins from Disney. We were thinking of doing the Epcot flower show but it's so expensive.

Instead my MIL and step FIL and SIL and her DH and 2 DD are coming here for a cook out. We're making hotdogs and hamburgers/veggie burgers and they're all bringing stuff. Should be fun.

No big plans. This is my first mother's day...I was very pregnant this time last year. My son was born on May 25th. Dh has to work all weekend and my mom and dad will come over on Sunday for a couple of hours to celebrate. That is all we have planned. MIL lives in another state, so we mailed out her gift and will call to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. DH is swamped with work and school right now, so I am not expecting much this year.

Whine alert: My Mother's Day activity was supposed to be today. We signed up for the Great Park Pursuit and the kick-off was today. However, one of our cats has been having joint problems and he broke his knee sometime last night. So, we had to take him to the vet. I feel so bad for the poor guy...but, dang! I've really been looking forward to this. I have to find out if we can still participate in the other events since we missed the first one... We don't have anything planned for tomorrow... Dh just wants to do yard work. Bummer.

Poor kitty is still at the vet cuz they said we have to help him go to the bathroom, etc. Um, sorry... I'm pregnant and dh is out of town most of the week. So, dh is going to come home early on Tuesday to check in with the vet and see if kitty is able to climb in the litter box by himself. If not, he'll have to wait there until the ortho can do his surgery.

I plan on getting a pedicure & going out for Thai food with the family for dinner. Dh will be making breakfast for me. We are also finally telling our boys we are expecting.

DH has built me flowerboxes on our rear deck for Mother's Day so the plan was to go to buy flowers for them after church tomorrow. But DD has a fever now - not sure how high it actually is, she won't let me put the thermometer in her mouth. I fought with her once and with the in-out-in-out action it made it up to 100.3. I'm sure it's higher than that. She's pretty miserable and only wants to watch videos, which is what she is allowed to do when she's sick! I hope she goes to bed early tonight!

DS begged to sleep at my folks, so we [I]let[I] him My parents are just next door, so no biggie, but, it'll be nice to NOT be waken up by anyone.

DH wants to take advantage of ds being gone, and our pelvic rest orders being lifted, :

As for tomorrow...I've really got to clean the house. My MIL is coming down (ugh, double ugh...) - and I havent cleaned in at least 9 weeks, DH has been doing his best, but, its kind of ucky. I sooo wish she wasn't coming, but my BIL is going to Honduras for the month, flying out near us. So, Im sure she will want to be wine'd and dine'd as shes the grandma!!

I hope you all enjoy your day!

My husband and kids cleaned the house yesterday top to bottom and today....well there isn't anything planned. I am just sitting still, trying not to vomit. My hubby took the kids to his mothers for a little while, and I am sure she doesn't mind not seeing me!

Yah
I don't even REALLY know why. His family is dysfunctional though, so I tend to not blame myself.
