Alright you new mamas who had early babies, did you use herbs?

Babies, babies, babies everywhere!

Did you use herbs and/or tea in the last few weeks of your pregnancy? I ask because I am doing nothing. I've not dilated in the least. I am 38 weeks tomorrow and still, nothing. And I have maybe 2 BH a day.

I'm not taking any herbs. I started taking herbs with Baby #6 but I found that I wasn't dilating at all. I usually walk around at 3cm for a month. Then I ended up with a fast and furious labor and delivery with shoulder dystocia, two weeks early.

I may do accupuncture on Monday if I am still at zero. I'm concerned because I don't want to end up with a c-section because my cervix doesn't want to cooperate.

i honestly wouldn't worry about dilation. i don't even get checked because it's not at all a sign of impending labor. if you're only 38 weeks, you've got at least a month, mama!!! and i would hold off on the acupuncture, too. maybe in your 40th week you can start some natural induction attemps but otherwise, let your body do the work!

No can do.

Dh is only home this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the rest of the month. This is Baby #8 and I am always at least two weeks early and still have 8.5 pound babies at that. I think that my body is just tired of pregnancy, childbirth and nursing.

I'd start drinking RRL tea ASAP, mama. I'd also get some Evening Primrose Oil and start inserting it vaginally as well as taking it orally. That should help your cervix soften and dilate.

I have a whole bunch of both left over and sitting here, but I couldn't get it to you fast enough to do any good I'm afraid. Maybe some very mild nipple stimulation, but I'd be very careful as it can get out of control fast (although if you're not dilated at all that might not be as likely!)

I'll be thinking of you, mama! I know not having your DH there would be sooo hard!

You're only 38 weeks. Try to be patient.
