Well I am so ready to quit but I refuse to it hurts so bad...I have been trying to atleast pump because it doesn't seem to hurt as bad that way although it still hurts bad...I inspected my nipple today and it's crackad about in half like my nipple is going to fall off...Now I know it won't but thats the way it's cracked it's pretty deep too...My son had thrush 3 weeks ago and still does a bit but I use the nystatin (on my nipples and in his mouth) and lansinoh and nothing is working for my nipples at all...Please help me out it hurts so bad I scream and cry in agony every time he needs to eat...something else weird is that my nipples are VERY red except the very middle and that's like a bleach white...Any suggestions?

How much nipple is your son taking in? How old is your son?

nak

a few quick thoughts... dont give up... it's only temporary

1. check your latch
2. no artificial nipples
3. lansinoh after each feeding and before/after bathing
4. no soaps
5. nurse on the side with less pain first or always and pump the other side
6. nurse in many varied positions. I had cracked nipples and was eventually able to find a position that hurt less (he was practically upsde down side-lying... think 69 nursing

Might also be a Raynaud's issue--here's kellymom on it. I had it too around 5-6 weeks and it hurt like hell. The white nipple thing is a vasoconstriction that cuts off blood supply, and then when it rushes back it really hurts. Vit B supplements (I think it's specifically B6) can help, keeping them warm/covered, etc.

I replied to your other thread but again, I emphasize, please do not use Lansinoh, it harbors yeast, making thrush worse.

still nak

genetian violet for the thrush, no lansinoh until thrush is gone, coconut oil on nipples until then.
