Rolling the cervix?

What is this? My midwife used this term and I can't find a definition anywhere?

not a mw, but it's late and I'm up... I'm pretty sure that's the same as "sweeping the cervix" or "sweeping membranes" - it's an intervention used where a care provider, while doing a vaginal exam, inserts their fingers into your cervix to stimulate "things" and "get things going" it can also cause a premature breaking of your membranes and pain, and also any time anyone but you or dp w/clean hands pokes around up there increases chance of infection

in what context did she use the term- put it in a sentence please.
I haven't heard anyone use rolling the cervix- and I was thinking along the lines of moving a lip up---
I know that there are different ways to sweep membranes- and she might be using the word like that but it is a strange term for it--

I've never heard of that term....and like the post above, would want to know in what context she mentioned it.
Could it be that the cervix is very posterior and she wants to pull it forward to check it ? When that is done, there is a sense that you are "rolling" the lower uterine tissue forward to reach the cervix.
That is the only think I can think of...

She used it while checking me at 40w3d. She said you are a 4 and 80% effaced do you want me to roll your cervix? She did it whatever it is and I did go on to have the baby later that day. I dont know if this did it or it was just time. I do know her cut off for non intervention was 40w4day.
Thank you ladies.
