Hi everyone!

[ETA: All of the rooms are here now except for the little laundry room/back entrance where our washer and dryer are. It's full of laundry and more stuff ready to got out to a thrift store right now! But the bedroom and bathroom and front entrance are all there now.]

I don't know the square footage but we downsized our four-person family from a HUGE three bedroom apartment (over 1000sf at least) to a small one bedroom in February.

Photos at my blog:

Front entrance
Bedroom
Clothes Storage
Bathroom
Living Room
Kitchen

Everything isn't perfect yet but I like how it's coming together so far!

I will post the bathroom and bedroom photos tomorrow!

:

Feel free to offer decorating/organizing advice, I am certainly no Delight, and, we are on a skinny budget.

It is beautiful, crisp and clean! Did you get to paint it or was it already like that?
It looks very nice and uncluttered!

It looks so crisp and clean, as well as warm and inviting. I am looking forward to seeing your bedroom / clothes storage solution with two children.

I love your sons play corner! What a great idea, where did you get it? :

It's beautiful!! It looks so bright, warm, and inviting.

You'd never know it was a small place to look at your pictures.

It looks great!

We'll be moving to a much smaller place in a few weeks and I am really looking forward to downsizing everything

But the books...
I have to figure a way to let go of the books
We're planning to downsize to a total of 5 6' bookcases
Gawd I need to get over these pieces of paper with a binding glued to them

You place looks gorgeous though!!

What was the hardest to get rid of?
How did the kids do with downsizing?

ds2, who is 4, is already set on we are taking *everything* with us.
Luckily his idea of everything isn't too inclusive...

The play structure with the slide is awesome! Where did you find it?

Thank you, everyone!

We got rid of a LOT of stuff over the winter/early spring, before we moved and afterward too as we sorted through what fit in our new place, what we didn't need, etc.

We were fortunate that the walls were already painted those pretty colors when we moved in. I would love to re-paint some of the rooms to brighter colors, but since we aren't going to stay here too long I don't know if it would really make sense.

The wood play gym was a free giveaway from a daycare near where we live. What a great find that was! We are very grateful for it (especially during the winter months when it gets too cold for the playground at the park.)

The living room and kitchen are the largest areas of the apartment, which is perfect for us. We don't feel like we're living in a small apartment. The bedroom is small, but that's fine. I look forward to showing our clothes storage tomorrow.

The hardest to get rid of was all the baby clothing I was saving, and all the things we were just saving "for a rainy day". My two sons are in toddler sizes now and if we have another baby we'll just get baby clothes then. The other stuff- I don't even rememebr what it was! I don't miss the books we eliminated either. I don't really miss anything. On the contrary, I am still finding about one small bag of stuff to get rid of every week . . .

Thank you! The walls are a light, warm yellow. Kind of lemony except here is definitely a bit of a red undertone to the color, which makes it almost a pale gold color. HTH.

Thank you everyone, the appreciation is very gratifying. I have a 6mo and an almost-3-yo so this project hasn't been easy, lol! But it makes me so happy to live here.
