We had our little boy at the hospital on Friday, May 11th at 3:15 pm. I was induced unsuccessfully with cervadil on Thursday night, so Friday morning the midwife switched to misoprostol and it worked very well! I labored in the shower for maybe two hours, going from 3 cm to 8. I started feeling like I might be a little pushy, and there wasn't enough room in the bathtub for the midwife to work in so she moved me to the bed. Being out of the shower really made me realize how strong the contractions were and I started getting scared that I couldn't handle the pain. She asked if I wanted her to just break my water and have a baby in twenty minutes and I readily agreed. He really was born about 20 minutes later I think! I pushed maybe 5 times, and when he was crowning I actually had to ask what was happening because I had no idea - it had happened so fast.
He was 8 lbs, 9 oz and 20 3/4 inches long. He's nursing fantastically and has spent the whole day sleeping.
