*update, all's well!* spotting...help...

i got in from a weekend trip last night and when i went to the bathroom, there was some *very light* spotting on the toilet paper. there wasn't any this morning, but of course i have been a crying wreck, fearing the worst (i had an early m/c in january). i'm waiting for my dr. office to open so i can see if she'll see me today, but i'm wondering if anyone else has had spotting in their 2nd trimester that didn't occur after sex/medical exam...

prayers and good thoughts much appreciated.

I have been told that it's very common to spot. 1/3 of women do it apparently. It doesn't make you feel any more comfortable though when you see it coming from your body.

Try to stay as relaxed as possible. I know....impossible, but when I spot I like to hear the HB since I've had 9 loses. Since the babe's started moving I focus on that instead of the spotting.

Lots of hugs and good vibes. I had spotting on and off with my last pregnancy (DS who is now 20 months). It was scary as hell, I remember, but he is just fine. They never could figure out what was causing it. I had a few weeks of bed rest just to be on the safe side (but work had pushed me pretty hard) and besides that no complications or anything with the whole pregnancy.

Hopefully you can get some good answers soon.

thanks so much...just hearing that it's happened and everything's turned out fine is VERY comforting. no sign of blood this morning, so i'm hoping it was just the stress/exhaustion from my cross country flight and nothing more...

In my case stress definitely seemed to be the cause...

Keep us posted. DId you get a hold of the office just to get everything checked out?

this is very interesting, as i spotted starting after a cross-country flight too (at 7w). it ended up being a very tiny hematoma, but i wonder if it had anything to do with the flight. i spotted on and off afterward (three times a week weeks 7 and 8, once in week 9 and week 10) but none since week 10. we are flying nyc-san fran in a few weeks for a wedding and i sure hope i don't spot again. :

definitely keep us updated!!

many hugs and prayers coming at you, my sis bled on and off her whole nine and has a gorgeous healthy 3 yr old DD , full term.. my mom also bled the whole nine with my sis and I (on and off) , I only bled at 6 wks (so far...) and all is well with me to date.. try to keep us posted.. I know that is hard but we worry!!

thanks again, everyone...just got back from the doctor, and ALL IS WELL!



she did a pelvic exam, everything looked ok, then tried to listen for the heartbeat with doppler but still couldn't hear it (she couldn't hear it last time either) and then concluded that this baby just wanted us to look at it, so she did an ultrasound and we saw beating heart and kicking legs!

such a relief. she told me to take it easy and keep her posted, but i have faith that all will be fine and i just need to slow down a bit. i think this was the sign i needed to maybe drop a few things from my schedule and take care of myself and my beautiful dancing baby.

I am so glad you got great news! I have had spotting a few times during this pregnancy (once brown, once red) and it is so frightening.
