Anyone find success with sex as labor-inducer? - Page 2

I'm not sure. On my due date, dh and I were intimate, but we didn't have sex. After playing for a while, though, I lost my mucus plug and was clearly in labor a few hours later. But, in hindsight, I think I was in early labor already.

Well.. I sure wish I could give you some insight but... my DH thinks prego women are gross.: yup! Gross. I will get to try it this time though, he has been deployed the entire pregnancy and will be home 2 weeks before D day and I garuntee you he wont care if I am gross

Well for me it seemed to work. When we ahhh finished my uterus contracted and stayed contracted for about 10 minutes then it started to relax and contract for about another 10 minutes then my water broke and 15 minutes later DS was born. I think that was a successfully induced labour. I was 39 weeks 4 days. So it may have just been time, but I think we gave it a bit of a push.

well i had sex the night before labor started w/ ds. i just had a feeling it was going to be my last chance for a while. don't know if the sex helped get things started or not.

I had a membrane sweep the same day, so I'm not sure if it was one or both that actually did it.

Or perhaps just mother nature, since I was 40w3d.

It's a mystery.

DH and I went at it like rabbits for the entire third trimester, and I still went to 44 weeks with the first baby, 43 with the second.

Yep, it worked.

I was about 38 weeks, and my OB was going out of town a few days later, so I was desperate to go into labor. I didn't want to have anyone else attend my labor! So yep, I started having contractions about 12 hours later!

Worked for us! In week 39 we had sex on Saturday afternoon, labor on Sunday morning and baby on Monday morning.
