Going back to work tomorrow...

So I go back tomorrow. It makes me so sad. 9.5 hours away from her and 2.5 - 3 hour commute. I feel like I will never see her!

It's bad enough going back to work, but to be gone like that is so unfair!

The day went ok. I woke at 3:45 to pump and get ready. It actualy took all 2 hours to get ready, so when DD1 comes home I think I will get up at 3:30. I cried leaving Abby. I pumped 3x at school. I remembered exactly why I dread my 4th period class. I picked up Abby, who slept all the way home!!! I realized that she no longer smells like my baby. I got home at 4:45, mising Oprah (I started watching again after Abby was born.

I'm ready for bed, but need to make dinner soon (DH will get home at 6:30) and then I will hit the sack, hoping to be aslep by 9.

All in all, I'd much rather be home

Kelsi,

How is it going? I am a teacher, too, and have been thinking of you.

The first few days were bad, but everything is getting better. I am getting used to the wierd hours (up at 3:45 and bed at 7:30) but I still can't wait until summer. And then summer school will start.

Oh well, next year should be better once I get a job closer!

Thanks for checking up on me

Glad to hear it is going better. I teach, too, and from 2000-2004, I had a commute and it made it so much harder. I got into the district I live in three years ago when my second daughter was 6 mos. and it is a blessing to be closer, in so many ways.

When do you start up in the Fall? We start up in last week of Aug, kids return the Wed after Labor Day. I am nervous about getting three ready for school by myself!! My dh is a teacher, too, but they start much earlier and he is gone by the time the kids get up!

The kids come back the last week of August, and we go back the week before. It amazes me how long it takes to get up and ready in the am. DD1 often stays with my Mom, and so with only DD2 it takes almost 2 hours (but sometimes more if she wants to nurse a lot) and with both it can easily take over 2 hours. I can't imagine what it takes with 3!:
