On the heels of my last OB question.....

Thread Starter
our OB has been so supportive and an excellant physician to us through two pregnancies now. I have so much respect for him and he is such a super guy. I would like to get him a gift of some sort but (and I so hate to sound like I am cateogorizing him) we know he makes a butt load of money and whatever he doesn't have, he could buy himself. So, this leaves us with probably doing something sentimental. I was thinking we could do a plaque and get it inscribed with something cool....what do you you think?

PS. Personality wise: He is very "wild and crazy". He used to always come to work in Miami Beach type shirts and flip flops. He just recently cut it, but he used to have longer hair too.

Unless you KNOW that he's making a lot of money, I wouldn't assume it at all. Malpractice rates for OB's are sky-high in many states, and with the expenses of running an office and paying off med school loans (usually for 20 years) there are many that are not doing all that well. I know that in my state (PA) several offices have closed down recently because of this. That said, maybe a gift certificate to a nice restaurant? Or, if you want to get something personalized, maybe an engraved picture frame from a place like Things Remembered.

gift idea

What about a vintage Hawaiian shirt? They can be pricey, but I bet he would treasure it forever.

And a framed letter telling him what you wrote in your post would probably also be appreciated!
