changed my ideal birth scenario

i originally thought it would be lovely to birth on a sunny spring day but for some reason i have the inkling for rain. all of a sudden i'm envisioning a cool day with rain pattering on the roof while i labor in the pool in front of a fire. i still prefer daytime but darkness sounds better than sunshine.....

the only rain forecasted is tomorrow evening & then not until the 23rd!? if he doesn't come tomorrow then i'll change my scenario back to sunshine!

I can see how that would be really peaceful. I got a pregnancy massage last week and it was sunny when I went in, not a cloud in the sky. When I came out an hour later the skies had opened up and it was just pouring. It smelled so earthy and green and I found myself thinking, "Hmmm...this would be great weather to birth in," as I made my way home. All day I thought labor would start, but no dice!

I hope whatever the weather, your birth is perfect for you!

We just had a passing summer shower (I know it's not summer yet, but it feels like it and it was one of those kind of storms - sunny but raining big huge drops and thunder) and I had the same thought - what a lovely day to have a baby. Unfortunately, it was just a passing one, done in about 10 minutes. I think we have more forecast for tonight???

we hadn't had rain here in weeks the day callum was born the morning was super sunny but when we drove to our nst in the afternoon it was pooring out, it rained like mad the whole time I was in labor and when he was born the sun came out it was kind of picturebook

now that's perfect! rain during labor & delivery & sunshine for recovery....i'm changing my scenario again to this.

I remember laboring and looking out my living room window at the rain when I was birthing dd. I lived in Portland, Oregon then, though... so I guess that was typical!

Yeah, that's totally cheating. Though probably Texas in May is cheating too, it's been very, very wet this month.

I was thinking this last night. I am very at peace during rain. I think it will be my ideal to birth during a rainstorm.

We had a great storm last night - tons of thunder and lightning. Would be fun to be roaring through birth in that kind of weather.
