what is your craving/aversion situation? - Page 2

I absolutely had to have Arby's tonight. DH wanted to go to this really great little place a few miles away, the owner/operator went to culinary school, they bake their bread there, win all kinds of awards... but no, I had to have my roast beef and jamoca shake. Pretty good since a week ago I couldn't stand protein of any sort.

I don't mind eating chicken, but I don't think I could do anything more than plop it in the crock pot right now.

I can't stand plain water unless it is hot out. I used to hate ice cold water but now it is the only way I can drink it. I have been having a big gulp of pepsi every day.

I seem to be having an aversion to things right after I eat them- like I just had soysauge gravy with biscuits, which I was craving, but now the thought of it makes me want to hurl. Why am I such a weirdo???

Thats funny because we just got some coupons in the mail for Arby's and I almost send dh there last night. I don't know what it is about being pregnant. I don't eat very much beef typically.

me too! i used to think drinking cold water was nuts, and left a pitcher out on the counter to drink all day (because sometimes even tap water was too cold for me!). now it needs to be ice cold!

also, that was me for weeks 5-12 re: eating something and then feeling sick over the thought of it for days later. it made me run out of things to eat pretty fast when, like, after eating oatmeal for breakfast i couldn't eat it again for a week. we had to get pretty creative for a while there.

right now i'm still averse to eating eggs, which sucks cos they're a quick and easy protein source (i used to eat one for breakfast almost every morning!). i THINK i may be able to eat them as pakistani-style spicy omlette, so i may try to make that for lunch.

right now i'm craving this creamy cheese i ate all summer in pakistan -- it was imported from holland. i NEED it but, alas, while i'm sure it's available somewhere in new york, who knows where.

The morning sickness is finally gone and I am able to eat again.

Nothing in particular I am craving or avoiding yet....except that I can ONLY drink water. everything else gives me acid reflux.

Pupkin Soup recipe.

three/four servings:

Half Pupmking peeled and chopped in little squares.
Caldo : (I can't remember the English word), the liquid of the soup, if you have home made, excellent, if you don't you can make one with the super preservative trangenical Knorr squares (maybe in the US there's some organic brand)
Cumin, Cinammon, pepper and salt.
Cream or milk
butter

----

Put butter in a pan and salt the pumpkin squares in there. When they are soft, add 'caldo' (or the Knorr square and boiling water) little by little, let it sitting on the fire until pumpkin is totally cooked and can be mushed with a wooden spoon. Add 50cm of cream or milk (I prefer cream) and grated cheese.

Enjoy!

Yes, water has to be very cold, if not I can't stomach it.
My favourite right now is ice soda from the sifĂłn! Here, they sell water with bubbles (I mean lots of bubbles) that you serve directly from a "sifĂłn"
A sifĂłn is a sort of bottle with an intern mechanism that makes it come out like a shot. I has the same amount of gas as a beer has (maybe more). But there's nothing like that in my office, and I can't cross the city with a sifĂłn in my purse...
