We used Xytex and overall I would recommend them, but they are pricey. They have adult and baby photos, id release, and a whole new bunch of other cool things (maybe recorded voice messages?). www.xytex.com

Hi y'all --

I asked this before but I think no one noticed, so I'm bumping the thread and trying again ... how can I find out if my state requires that I go through a doctor to get sperm from a clinic? I've tried some google searches, but I've had no luck so far.

Hmm, I'm not sure how you can find out that info without asking each specific bank you are interested in. I think our bank (Fairfax Cryo) would only ship to medical offices, but that may have been their policy, not law. We were able to pick our tanks up in person, but we first had to have a waiver signed by a doctor saying that the doctor was giving us the ok to inseminate at home. I'm not sure how much this will help, but there is a section about donor insemination on the HRC website. That info is here.

I'm pretty sure that Northwest Cryobank will ship directly to your home without doctor approval.

There the only bank who will work without a Dr's auth. I had a horrible experience with them but I've heard they have improved quite a bit since they got more staff and got that horrid women off the phones. Although it was really weird ordering sperm from a man on the phone I would have beat the tar out of said man had I been there in person for what he told me... (nearly missed the cycle due to the stunt they pulled)
