Loosing Weight?

So when is it ok to start excersizing? And what is considered excersize?
I don't think I would be "pushing" it by walking or light jogging on a tredmill. What do you think? Honestly, I am just wanting some ME time (I know dh would make it possible) and I am SICK of wearing fat pants!

Oh...what are your plans to get rid of the floppy tummy?

i started exercising 2weeks pp- just light activity at first. i have increased the intensity and my body is tolerating it well ( no increase in lochia, tiredness etc..) i originally started working out for my mental health, i miss the runners high I lost 30lbs right away but I have 30 more to loose. Nothing fits. Nothing. I am one of those people who have a terrible time loosing wt while BFing. ugh.....

I say go for it as long as you are feeling up to it. Just listen to your body- good luck

Yes, I need it for my mental health too! And, NOTHING fits me either. Maternity pants are all WAY too big and my normal pants are too snug! Ugh! :

i live near a park and have been taking the baby for short walks sense about 5days pp...I've just been walking faster each day or further (and at first dh pushed the stroller - now ds and i go by ourselves (2wks pp). I have been wondering the same thing though as far as when i can really excersize. i haven't tried wieghing myself yet....but i am sure i have at least 30 to lose also. and honestly i was 10lbs overwieght to begin with.

So...I'm still frustrated though with stretchmarks and naval peircing scar - yep, that stretched too...what you don't hear as an 18yo! I guess it is a "mom" swimsuit from now on!

So...I got on the treadmill for the first time today!!! Whoa...I am out of shape! I was worn out after only 15 min, I was doing at least 30 before! I do feel better though!

I'm not much over my pre-pregnancy weight (maybe 5-7 lbs) but I have a flabby tummy now. No idea how to get rid of it!

I have 30lbs to lose too. I am 1 week pp and ready to get back in shape. I am still waiting about another week to start doing much activity. I don't want to risk increasing the bleeding any since I had some issues with it after Ashton was born.

I really need a double stroller to go for brisk walks. I wear Ashton as much as possible but I prefer to have both ds's in a stroller while walking. It's just easier that way.

I have been back on the elliptical trying to get back to interval training. Warning to all new mothers : joints are still very loose I feel like my legs are rubberbands.

I went to a post partum class on Monday and hope to get there tonight too. I have 7# to go, but I was 30# overweight to begin with because of my thyroid going wacky right before getting pregnant.

Yeah, me too. I think it has something to do with the carb cravings I get

With 2 other kids and a partner who is away from home from 7.30 am - 7.30 pm every day, I am finding it a bit of a struggle to find any "me" time at all, let alone a whole half hour in which to exercise! Once our day settles into more of a routine (as opposed to a mad rush to get stuff done), I will try to find some time to exercise. I am currently wearing some "fat" clothes that I had forgotten to throw out from when I had gained weight after ds2. Not good.

I have about 7 lbs to loose and I think I will do it mostly by walking on the treadmill. I would love to join a gym but I hate pumping and my little one eats every 1 1/2 hours during the day. I also have a hard time loosing weight while breastfeeding I crave foods that are so not good for me for some reason.

My Midwife suggested I wait to do more "intense" exercise, but I can't! It's been a month, and I have gone to the gym 3 time this week. It feels SO GOOD! I have time alone, I can sweat... I have been walking quite a bit, but that doesn't have the mental health benefits...
The exercise is mostly for my mental health, really. I feel really great about how my body has bounced back. I'm a lucky lady, with just a softer, looser stomach...

When you figure out let me know! I've never had a rock hard stomach but I have never had a soft flabby one either - I don't know what to do! It just sort of hangs - especially now that it is getting smaller...
