Has anyone else read her? I just finished House of the Spirits, Eva Luna, and Fortunes Daughter. I have a tendency to read all of an authors works when I discover I like them. What were your favorite books by her? Has anyone seen the movie adaptation of House of the Spirits?

I've read and enjoyed her books. I think House of the Spirits was my favorite. The movie is ok. I actually watched the movie a couple of years before I read the book.

I didn't care for Fortune's Daughter as much as her other books, but I really enjoyed The House of the Spirits, The Infinite Plan and Eva Luna. I started Portrait in Sepia andOf Love and Shadows but I didn't get through them.

My favorites are Eva Luna and House of Spirits. She also has a great cookbook, Aphrodite: A Memoir of the Senses. Lots of cute illustrations (satyrs and nymphs chasing each other across the pages) and recipes and stories...oh the stories are wonderful.

I think Allende is an amazing woman.

I love her. I have read most of her books. I just finished Zorro. My favorities
are probably House of the Spirits and Paula. Don't read Paula until you have read her previous books before it.
I was disapointed by the Movie House of the spirits. The Love and Shadows film was a little better but not much.
Oh I forgot to add that she written children's books, for older children, but I have not read them yet since my son is only 9.
