I used NAET very successfully with my DD1 who had head to toe eczema, DD2 is currently going through the process, as is my mother, and I even have managed to drag DH in for a few treatments. I love it. NAET is not a quick solution, it took several months for DD1's eczema to slowly get better, eventually I was able to pin point triggers for her, I never was able to before, she was literally reacting to everything. She has been completely eczema free for one year. I have to admit that I was very unsure if NAET was for real or not, it is very alternative. I have had several confirmations that it is real.

#1: I managed to drag Dh along to one of DD1's treatments to get him tested, I had a feeling that some of his weird health issues were caused from allergies, while we were there, he was going through through the different vials of solutions and looking at them. He picked up the penicillin one (DH had severe rashes to it as a child), i saw it, and took it away from it, he thought I was a nut case, he kept saying that little vial couldn't do anything to him. 30 minutes later we were at the library and DH was acting weird, I asked him what was going on, and he said that he felt like someone was sitting on his chest, he was having trouble breathing. I rushed him back to the NAET office where she did a treatment on him using me as a surrogate since he obviously could not touch the vial. During the treatment, DH kept asking me what I had put on my fingers, where I was holding him, my fingers were burning him. I was the one with the penicillin vial, I had it in my sock, and then I was touching DH's arm, being his surrogate for the treatment, and my fingers were burning him, very weird. :

#2: My mom, who had never had allergies before, suddenly had a series of very severe allergic reactions, bad enough that she had an epi pen after several injections of steroids to decrease swelling in her throat so she could breathe again. I dragged her in the NAET place so they could figure it out, They did, and she began treatment for the 12 basics. One of the basics is B12, now ever since my mother was a small child she has always had to have injections of B12 every couple months, she doesn't absorb it through her stomach like most people. After undergoing the NAET treatment for B12, she has never had to have another injection.

I have several friends that have used NAET as well and also have had success stories. I've been using it for 2.5 years now and still I honestly don't understand it but it does work. You have to rise above the thinking that this is a load of crap. I almost didn't, the first appointment, I thought that lady was nuts, it took everything I had to go back for a second appointment, but then it got easy, and I starting noticing improvements after a while. Peony,
Thanks for your story. I just started going a few months ago and I am hoping that it IS for real. b/c as you said it seems too carzy to actually work. My plan was to eventually bring my DS who also has multiple FA. My only concern is the cost. did insurance pay anything for you? I am a SAHM and my husband is not sure it's worth the money for us both to go. I must say my eczema has gotten a little better. He is still working on the basic 12. I have had about 9 treatments at $50 per session. if it works any amount is worth it!! I'd love to hear more stories...
Did I mention that I love this forum and all you great mom's who help so many!!! thanks again

Well, our first appt decided to try a homeopathic instead. Doesn't work. At all. I have ds taking that still + double dose of zyrtec and he's just awful. It makes me want to cry to see him and know he's struggling and going to kindergarten feeling like he's ugly and no-one likes him.

So, I just left a message asking if we could try NAET next.

Our dr tells us they don't even bother billing NAET as no insurance will cover it. For us, the initial visit is $90 and each follow up is $65.

We have used NAET for our dairy allergic two year old and it made a huge difference. He needs more treatments but I just haven't done it yet. Last summer my dh was having horrible allergies to point of being on multiple allergy meds and then being prescribed three different type of steroidal meds. I begged him to try NAET (I had heard great things) before going on any of the steroids. He had been up coughing all night and using a rescue inhaler multiple times per day. After one treatment he was able to cut back the inhaler to once in three days, cut back on one of the allergy meds and never had to take any of the steroidal meds. That experience really sold me on NAET. My hubby is not much of a believer so it wasn't a placebo type effect, he was very skeptical going into it. Thanks for the reminder I need to make NAET appts.

Thank you for posting this! DS had his first BioSET appt today (it is an offshoot of NAET) and I was his surrogate, I want to believe but I am still a bit skeptical. I really hope it helps DS, he has eczema and he is allergic to something and gets really itchy and scratches at himself, mostly his face. We have been doing an elimination diet for 5 months and I still cannot pinpoint what his all his triggers are.

Anyway, I was supposed to leave the vial (I forget what it was to clear) in his diaper for 2 hrs and accidentally left it for 5 and when I went to give him a bath he had a rash extending down from where the vial was. The Dr. gave us 4 more vials to clear at home plus some digestive enzymes and 2 liver support herbals. We got home from the appt and I was exhausted, I laid on the couch to nap and DS joined me at some point, he never takes a second nap, so he must have been exhausted too.

No update here b/c our appt won't be until June 14th. I'll subscribe to this thread and then post back. I love reading about people's experiences so I hope this keeps going.

Hi everyone,

I just joined Mothering.com because I knew that it would be a good place to ask about NAET, and sure enough, you are already talking about it!

We started our 3-yr-old son on TBM (total body modification - which I believe was the basis of NAET). We did two treatment sessions, and at the first he was supposed to be cleared of his dairy and egg allergies. One hour after the treatment, he was allowed to eat these foods again. Almost immediately he started getting stomach aches again and a few days later the itching started up.

When we went back to the doctor, he retested for eggs and dairy and said that the treatment worked. However it clearly did not. He encouraged us to keep coming, saying maybe it was something else, but when I told him he we were pretty sure that the dairy cure did not work, he said maybe we shouldn't come back. So that left a very bad taste in my mouth.

However, I still want to believe that this process works, and I've found a chiropractor who does NAET. I would like to try again, but because of the cost, would really love to hear from more people who have had success with it. From what I've read, it almost seems like it works for some people and not for others. Anyway, anything else that anyone could share would be appreciated. Thank you!

I asked my BioSET person how 'fast' we would see improvements and she said that as we got things cleared his body had to heal and eventually he would not be allergic to a substance anymore. I don't believe that these methods are magic but that they canhelp the body to correct itself naturally.

Also, what kind of milk did you give your DS? Was it raw? If it was milk from the store he could be reacting to several thingsasteurization, homogenizing, or all the vitamins that are added to the milk. That being said if you don't like the attitude of the dr, I wouldn't go back.

The first BioSET person we went to wanted all the money up front for 34 sessions, that was a whopping $2400 (or so, she was giving us a few 'free' sessions.) That left me with a horrible feeling, like she was out to get my money no matter if we were healed or not. Not to mention, how can a dr. quantify how many sessions are going to be needed for healing?

Thanks, Nolansmum, for your response. First, wow, I would have definitely run away from the first doc you went to see. That is scary plopping down that kind of money!

Um, we haven't given DS milk yet, but the cheese and yogurt we gave him was conventional (though the yogurt was plain with only the basic ingredients). So what we would like to do next is give him some unpasteurized cheese to see if he is able to eat that w/no bad effects. We were waiting for the itching to stop so that we could test it, but it's been over a week and he is still itching even though we stopped with the dairy. So possibly he is allergic to something else he's eating. The doc that started the TBM on him did find many, many foods that he is sensitive to. It's all just so complicated.

On another note, I think that if the doctor had been more encouraging that he could find the problem, we probably would have continued. I certainly would love to have our son healed of all of this. But now I feel that we've "wasted" $5-600 and now we have to start over with someone else.

Okay, I'm just learning so maybe a dumb question but......if we go in knowing the results of the allergy test (from the allergy center) will that save us time?

And, has anyone ever done NAET for an environmental allergy while that trigger was in full force; ie. pollen?
It should save you time. Hopefully the doctor won't want to retest. The chiropractor I've been talking to that wants to do NAET said that it may not take us as many sessions as normal since we've already done a little work with the TBM.

Also, I asked the chiropractor about outdoor allergies because my son has them too. He said it is hard to clear them when you are in the midst of the season, but that they do improve and maybe the next year or the year after they will be gone altogether.

thanks

thanks so much for all ur responses. when i first posted this question i did not get a reply for the 1st day or so and i was begining to think NAET may not be the right thing after all. but thanks for ur responses i have a ray of hope again. My DS has multiple FA and i m on complete elimination diet since the past 5 mths but he is covered in eczema head to toe. he got worse after we started with anti- histamine and steroid.

did any one find that the symptoms got worse after NAET? i'm not scared of alternative meds as i believe they cant do any more harm than anti histamines and steroids to a 1 yr old. i feel like i m already giving the worst possible thing on earth for the baby to him, i shud not be skeptical about something natural like NAET.
just a thought what say. thank u so much for all the help and support.

I too give DS antihistamines and use the steroid creams. I feel like I had no other choice, nothing natural this far has worked (oils, baths and such) in fact DS is sensitive to many 'natural' things. He gets itchy from epsom salt baths, he reacted to almost every natural lotion and cream, he is sensitive to herbs and essential oils. We do what we have to to keep things under control. Better to use a steroid and antihistamine than have DS completely scratch his face to a bloody pulp.

I have been considering doing NAET with my DD for a few months now after someone telling me what success they had with it. The cost for treatment here is $100 per session so I decided to try the Vega testing instead and then the elimination diet. We are still struggling so, after reading all this, I think I will try it. (I am actually reading the book on it right now). I don't know how on earth I'll convince DH to do it. I hope to hear more success stories on here!!
