silver amalgam filling removal- northeast

Hi there-
Has anyone had their silver (mercury) fillings removed in Mass or New Hampshire? I'm seriously considering it since mine are all well beyond their natural shelflife, but would love to hear from others who have gone through the process. I've found a great holistic/biological dental practice in Groton, Mass. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

I havent gone through the process myself, but I work at a busy natural health store as a nutritional counsellor, and have talked to many people who have. I have heard the strong resommendation on several occassions to begin a cleansing process early, before you have the procedure done, and continue it to support the elimination if possible. Be sure your pathways of elimination are open an functioning as best they can ( intestines, liver, kidneys especially). There is alot of information out there about supplements that can help pull the heavy metals out of your body- cilantro/chlorella combo, liquid zeolite, oral chelation. There are also cleanses preformulated with several ingredients. Check these things out and see if any feel right to you. Ive heard the pressure on the body is lessened with this approach. There is a concern about any forms of chelation (including natural) before removal, as they can pull the Hg out of intact fillings too. More in Chelating Mamas thread. Things like selenium and vitamin C that support the detox pathways naturally can and should be started beforehand.
