No VBAC for me. Please send good c/s vibes for Friday.

I have not really been reading or posting too much because I have had a very rough 6 days. I found out that it isn't prudent for me to VBAC (I was planning a waterbirth at a fsbc). Don't ask why... I am not ready to talk about it yet. I spent a lot of time

Then I got very painful UTI to top it off.

Anyhow, I met my midwife's backup OB today... I am traveling more than 1.5 hours over state lines to have a C/S in a hospital highly supportive of normal birth, so hopefully I won't have to fight many protocols to have as peaceful a C/S as possible. Turns out this OB had tried for an HBAC and had to have a C/S instead for almost the same reason that I will... so she was very empathetic regarding my lousy emotional state.

But a C/S is still a surgery no matter what, and traumatizing. So please send me some good vibes for Friday morning if you remember.

I am so sorry to hear that. I am hoping for a vabc, so I can't even imagine your state of mind right now.

I will pray for you and your miracle child.

on the bright side, you will meet your little one very soon.

hugs,

Miriam

Sending lots of hugs and healing thoughts your way, mama!

So sorry you're not getting the vbac. If it's any consolation, I think I would have healed from my c/s so much faster and easier if I hadn't gone into it starving and exhausted. You can at least take advantage of knowing a couple days in advance to prepare a little.

I hope all goes smoothly for you, and your recovery is fast and pain-free! And that you and baby get to bond right away!

(Do you have a doula?)

Good luck with your C/S! Do you have a C/S birth plan? If you want I can send you mine (I have two birth plans, one for natural birth and one in the event of a C-section) for ideas. (PM me if you want.) That's tough and I'm sure very disappointing but at least you have a little time to prepare and get used to the idea.

Hugs to you mama. Sending you fast healing vibes. I think it is great that you are finding an OB who has experienced what you have. Good luck and take care of yourself.

I'm so sorry that you cannot try for a VBAC. A very close friend of mine tried for a VBAC two times unsuccessfully - and each time there was a serious reason why it would not have been possible. I believe that everything really does happen for a reason, even if we cannot see that reason at the time. Trust in your baby to lead you to the birth that is safest. I hope you have a nice cesarean - they are possible with the right care provider.
