"...we will not tolerate the construction of a nuclear weapon"

except when it is created for the US arsenal.

I really need to eat healthy and take lots of showers to wade through this steady stream of lies and general filth from this administration.

I know so many of us here have already put Iran next on the US Invasion list. Just watching unfold now, that's all. However, it is no less disgusting. These idiots do not even revamp their lies for war...just lather, rinse, repeat.

Quote:
"The international community must come together to make it very clear to Iran that we will not tolerate construction of a nuclear weapon," Bush told reporters at the end of a meeting in the White House Cabinet Room. "Iran would be dangerous if it had a nuclear weapon," he said.
Quote:
Iran also has an advanced missile program and maintains ties to terrorist groups, possibly including Al Qaeda, the administration has asserted, and is run by conservative mullas who are deeply hostile toward the United States.

Bush labeled Iraq a threat to U.S. national security before invoking his revised U.S. defense posture which called for pre-emptive attack in such a case.

Yeah...boy oh boy...!

What nerve?! When I saw this article it was originally headlined, like: "Bush: I will not tolerate....". I could only think...who the hell are YOU to tolerate or not tolerate ANYTHING? WE have had these friggin' useless nuclear weapons...a millstone around our global, collective, planetary neck, keeping us hostage to fear, forever...for what? What the hell good are they? They don't feed anyone, clothe anyone, provide parenting to the orphaned, or companionship to the lonely; they don't allow anyone peaceful rest.

Sort of OT:

We heard the screeching from the masses about Saddam's cruelty; but what about thousands dying cruelly- hundreds of them our own troops for a LIE? "Who cares? We beat Saddam!", is the mantra now. Well, those who died on both sides and their families care...today. How many more thousands will care, "ours" and "theirs", if we go to war unprovoked, with Iran tomorrow or next week or in a few months? They are much tougher to knock down...it will be a much worse outcome if we allow this to come about. Is Bush biting off more than everyone else wants to chew? (Is there already an agreement to go to war with Iran between the US and the Brits as apparently one is alleged to have been made last summer for war with Iraq- and now they are just revving up public opinion again?)

Yeah it is depressing, yeah it's just more of the same. But dammit, this is OUR damn country! These guys are counting on us giving up and just letting them do it.

Apathy is a luxury... keeps us isolating from the truth, pretty much in essence relinquishing any responsibility for our citizenship and certainly in denial of our complicity. Folks don't want to deal with cognitive dissonance and admit that any further war is as wrong as this one because the PEOPLE are the ones who suffer- the ones who are being "disciplined", are allowed to go their merry way, because we installed them and have invested heavily in them. And so you see how important it is for these warmongers to start planting seeds of contempt for Iran, setting up for acceptance of "inevitable" war....I mean it will go on and on till we say ENOUGH!

Just my mad rantings again....no offense to anyone intended. I have to hope that many who did not question before, people of conscience no matter their party, are wondering and questioning now. I think they are, but we cannot give up or count on others to carry on...or all is already lost.

We have to keep on...Joyce in the mts.
