first, a bit of good news...my mil watches my 5yo while i work each morning. this weekend, she is having her just-turned-3yo granddaughter for 3 days. i told her to ask her son if they were using their alpha-omega as a booster now that their dd is 3y30lbs. (i was offering to install an extra seat in mil's car)...the parents got back to her to say they still use the 5pt harness bc dd is still so young.
thats good news, and surprising, since they are SUPER DEE DUPER mainstream about everything else. (ok, i've seen them "install" dd's seat, and they just click the buckle w/out tightening it, but at least they know to use the 5pt til the upper limit, not quit at the lower)
now this leads me to my question...my 5yo ds uses mil's seat as a booster now, as he just hit the upper limit for the harness. (i am comfortable with this arrangement, i can not afford a harness-up-to-65-pounds britax, the belt fits him well, he is hale and hearty, please dont anyone recommend NOT going the booster route w/him.

if i install the seat w/LATCH, so his 3yo/30# cousin can use it...(while mil has both of them i will put an extra turbo HBB in her car for my ds)...can i then use it for him the following week w/out the internal harness, but w/the seat belt fastened over top?
does that make sense?
if it hasnt been tested, i wont do it. if it hasnt been tested, is there any plan for this arrangement to be in the near future? it would be so easy to do it this way...one seat, one installation, two uses.
