12 week appointment - bad news :(

Thread Starter
Went for my 12 week appointment today and my midwife couldn't get a heartbeat. So .. she managed to get us in for an U/S and unfortunately, baby had died at around 8-9 weeks. I should of been 12 weeks, 6 days today.

*sigh* I had this happen with a pregnancy between Brayden & Lilia too. I got to 11 weeks, then started spotting so went for an U/S and found that the baby had died much earlier.

This time I haven't had any cramping, bleeding or any other signs though so it's really out of the blue. I thought things were going along fine, although I had had an inkling, I guess, throughout this pregnancy. It might sound strange but with Brayden & Lilia I have known RIGHT AWAY if it was a boy or a girl, and was right both times. My pregnancy I m/c and this pregnancy, I didn't know right away .. a sign?

So .. trying to decide what I want to do from here now. Wait it out and let it happen naturally or go in for a D&C. I'm really mad that I have to go through this again. I just don't understand why it can't happen early if it's going to happen. WHY do I have to get to almost the end of the first trimester and then have this happen? Twice!!

Hugs.

I understand what you're going through and how unfair this is.

Take time to heal.

I waited for mine to happen naturally, and I'm glad I did, but this is a personal choice only you can make.

i'm so sorry for your loss. i just went through my miscarriage on monday at almost 13 weeks. i'm almost sure the baby died many weeks ago though. i felt the same as you posted also, such an immeadiate connection with my son and daughter, but nothing really strong with this one. i was hoping it was just my mommy worries getting the best of me.

i opted to wait it out and do it naturally. i didn't know how much of a real labor it was going to be at that point, but it was just as intense and long as dd's! i'm glad i chose that route though. i did really consider going in for a d&c, but it just didn't seem right at the time. i hope your choice becomes clear for you. it's such a hard decision to make!

many hugs and strength vibes headed your way today.
