Are you keeping active/working out?

Now that I am feeling better, I've been going back to the gym a few times a week for just 30 minutes on my lunch break. Nothing heavy, believe me

I'm either just walking on the treadmill or doing the eliptical slowly on the lowest setting and watching my HR to keep it in the 130s (per my midwife).

Is anyone else doing any kind of walking/excercise with this pregnancy?

I've been trying but this week has been a no go for me. I'm supposed to be woggling (walking/jogging) in the relay of the marathon in mid June so I'm trying to go for walk/runs once or twice a week.

I was actually going to post a plea for people to keep reminding me to 'go to the gym', 'go to the gym', 'go to the gym'. I need the help!

Ahem...

Does chasing a 3.5 year old and an almost 2 year old count as exercise?

What about working in our massive vegetable garden?

I'm still on partial bedrest, but the doc thinks my subchorionic hemorrhages are getting a little smaller and hopefully I can start doing my pregnancy yoga and powerwalking soon! I chase my almost one year old aroud the house as my exercise for now.

We can help keep each other motivated Edwina I'm heading over at 1 this afternoon for my 2nd time this week.

And yes, I fully think that chasing after our kiddos counts as working out too.

I pulled a muscle in my foot a week ago (doing a 3 mile power walk), so I haven't done anything more than necessary (mostly housework and chasing kids) in the past week. It still hurts, perhaps even more today than previous days. I'm hoping that it gets better soon.

I started back to the gym this week with intentions. I'm still so exhausted even by a little work out but I've been doing 30 mins at about 3.3mph 3 days a week. This combined with chasing and playing with my DS seems like a good amount but I'd like to start doing yoga again asap.

I've been going to they gym once a week... okay, that's a lie. I'm probably averaging once every *other* week. So it's been pretty pathetic here. And when I do go, I can't believe how much more quickly I get tired! I've gone from an hour of hard workouts 4x a week, to being exhausted by 30-40 min of slow elliptical and walking. Sheesh.

Best of intentions to get there a few times a week once summer gets here... I will need the break from the kids once they are out of school!

I am doing www.strollerstrides.com
but the spring session is almost done and I am not signing up for summer b/c it gets too hot. I have a kick @$$ jogging stroller, so I will *try* and get out with ds early in the morning or in the evening with dh.

Oooh, me! Oooh me!!! I've gone 3 out of 4 days this week and plan to go tomorrow (would have been 100% but DH had the car one day) Last week I went thrice.

I have been lifting weights... not nearly what I did before because 1) I'm pregnant, duh! 2) I spent the first two months getting queasy at the thought of lifting and seriously atrophied so even if I *could* lift heavy, I still *couldn't*

I've been pretty bad with cardio though. I love lifting so much that I put my all into it so by the time cardio time comes around, I'm only good for about 20 minutes. I still go at least a mile though. DH get out for walks (about 2 miles) a few times a week after dinner. It sucks though because it's already hot and it's still in the 90s after dark even!

Um, does walking up the stairs to go pee a hundred times a day count?

I am still working out. I can't do allot (I have a torn ACL) but I still do what I can do.

I was an absolute lump on a log the whole first trimester, so I'm hoping to find time and energy next week. I hate paying for my gym membership and not going, which sadly is the case A LOT, pregnant or not. If I don't start going, I'm going to cancel it (because Lord knows I won't be going after the baby's born) and start a pre-natal yoga class and go for beach walks with my husband.

last week (at 12w) i went back to the gym. i had been wanting to go back earlier, even though my m/s was awful and i was exhuasted, just because my body seemed like it was aching for the activity (before pregnancy i had been going 3x's a week religiously for 1.5 years). i would've pushed through the m/s probably but we had a bit of a spotting scare in weeks 7 and 8 (a tiny hematoma) so i wanted to wait til closer to the 2nd tri.

anyway i only made it twice last week, but did go three times this week. the next two weeks will be tricky since i'm going to boston and san fran, but i should make it at least twice each week, and then i'll be back for good, hopefully. my gym offers a prenatal yoga class so i'd like to start that as well.

it's kind of sad how i used to do the elliptical on resistance 9 or 10 and now i'm down to 2 again, but at least i'm trying. i could probably push myself harder energy- and strength-wise, but i'm trying to keep my heartrate down to below 140, which i reach super fast now! i haven't been doing weights because i'm not sure WHAT i should be doing/what's safe, etc. i need to figure that out.

Yes, I'm staying VERY active!!! With DD my pregnancy as well as L & D went very well and I attribute it to water aerobics twice a week and a 30-60 minute walk everyday.

So far I have been walking 2-5 miles everyday (at least 45 min). Sometimes a lot more since DD likes to take walks. I also recently purchased pregnancy yoga and pilates on DVD. I have yet to try them though, I'm a bit intimidated.

MamaBear- Which jogging stroller do you have? Is it a single or double? I'm looking to get one and would like one just as you described yours. TIA!

I've been going to the gym twice a week. I'm mostly just doing cardio, stretching, and some abs. I'm scared to lift weights. I'm scared to lift anything right now.

Mind you, DD and I walk to the gym, so if it's rainy and miserable outside I just skip it. Luckily, we've had pretty nice weather!

We're going to visit my folks for a few weeks and my mum visits the gym pretty regularly, so hopefully I'll stay motivated during our vacation.
