Hi Mamas!
As we near the end of the school year, I thought it might be fun to share some of the good experiences our kids have had at school & things they have learned at school as well as ideas that we have for how to take advantage of summer vacation!!!

My oldest son is finishing up first grade - he had a great math teacher - I am really amazed at all of the concepts she has helped him grasp and his reading, writing & spelling seem to be progressing nicely.

However, what really excites me about this year is how excited he has become about music & art as well as how he seems to be getting a better understanding of how the world fits together. He has school friends from many different countries and he is very interested in understanding where different countries are on a globe, what language is spoken, which holiday is celebrated. They have had some great school assemblies from the Smithsonian Museum and that seem to have sparked some real interest in cultural celebrations.

As for the summer - we are going to spend a bunch of time at the pool & beach. I am going to take the kids to the library even more than we go now and we are going to continue to go to cultural festivals and events on the weekend.

How about you all?
