My brother's being deployed

Thread Starter
: My brother is in the Army and just called to say that his Colonel told him he's getting deployed. I am so sad/upset/angry. My brother is very against the war and doesn't want to go. He's already been in Afghanistan right after 9/11 when he was a Ranger... He put in his resignation last week (which you can do when you are one year away from filling your obligation/contract with the Army.) Supposedly that makes you less deploy-able. Yeah right.

Oh and I can't tell my mom b/c my grandma is dying and it would upset my mom too much.

Oh I am so : : These pg hormones aren't helping any.

I am so sorry to hear the news. That is awful and I will say a prayer for your brother.

Nothing makes you less deployable these days. Even if your contract is up in a month, they can deploy you for 18 months. I'm sorry.

((((((HUGS)))))))

My Hubby is in Iraq. No question is hard and horrible for everyone. We are pro-peace and though my husband loves his job it is taxing on the soul to say the least.

I wish for you and yours the very best.

I'm so sorry

My uncle was a Ranger. We didn't know where he was for most of Desert Storm, even over holidays.

I hope you have the strength to support HIM regardless of your political point of view. I suggest sending Cracker Jack. Dave always liked that.
