ok I know tehre are a lot of MW mommas here,a nd a number of BH moms too ---
but I do love our OB.
He is the most natrually minded one in the area, has a very small pratice and save an emergency WILL be at the birth. He is totally supportive of VBAC (not that it applies to us) and is back up for at least one HB mid-wife and did back up more before down-sizing his pratice last year (used to back up the CNM we used, no longer does). I have heard MW and doulas call him a "male midwife" -- he is highly respected in both the MD world and the natrual birth commuinty.
welllllllllllllllllll
today we were talking abotu T nurseing, and he said "we havea 25 month old at home, my wife has suggested weaning to and the child is having none of it" he said that the nutrial count of the milk may decress as the baby needs more but "Theodore should nurse as long as he wants, it is a good thing for him".
we talked about co-sleeping -- and the constant knees to the tummy (poor baby) and he said "we co sleep in our family...actually i do not remember the last time i was alone in bed with my wife, there is always someone there".
he is jsut so calm -- very informative (spent 45 minuts last appt talking about gentic testing with us after he knew we didn't want it, but he still answered all Dh's math questions); but not worry about anything, or freaky.
he was fine wiht me gaining only one pound -- he knows all the weight gain issues form last time, adn how worred everyone made us.
i just feel blessed ot have such a good OB
