Hard contrxs now nuthin'*** Updated**

Ok, what a dirty trick! I woke with hard contrx at 12:30am then had 'em til 5am. Now nuthin but just some discomfort now and then. Anyone else had this and how do I get things going again? This BTW happened a few hours after <1Tb of castor so I could move my painful bowels.

Any ideas on getting it going again...other than castor?

*** OK, so all that night of contracting musta done sumthin' cuz they resumed again at 12:30 pm on Fri, the 18th and I was birthin' out Boston David E 3 hours later. No time for drugs, thankfully. I got to the hospital and was 10cm and had pushing contrx for about 10min when he came out in his bag-bursting through-all 8 lbs 2oz of him.
Easier than the first but hard work, that's fer sure. I guess the stopping for a few hours was nature letting me rest before the big event.

The castor oil likely caused the contractions...but if your body isn't ready and labor isn't already in the early stages, it isn't likely that there is anything you can do to "restart" your contractions.

I've gone through 4 separate days over the last 3 weeks in which I had seriously strong contractions that were 5 minutes apart and lasted anywhere from 10-14 hours and then just stopped.

My doctor said that was all part of the deal...and that we'd know when I was really in labor because it would end with a baby.

I've spent a significant amount of time trying to encourage labor...to no avail...and have been left feeling tired and disappointed. So, my new trick is to try to ignore the fact that I'm pregnant and just surrender to the fact that there is simply nothing I can do to hurry things along.

Frustrating, I know. Good luck with having your baby!

Congratulations! I'm so glad that you posted your story! I contracted all night, only to have it fizzle out around 10 a.m. I'm still praying it picks up again tonight so we can meet our little girl!
