I am SO freaking hungry today. I had two small (homemade and VERY healthy) muffins upon waking and now I am eating some quiche from a cafe down the street. What has gotten in to me? I am also nauseas for the first time in weeks. Could it be from a baby growth spurt or something?

I have been like that since 8 weeks, when "The Nausea" started. In my case, nausea comes when I've ignored the first hunger symptom. If I don't eat a small meal every two (some times 1.30) hours I start to feel nausea and desperation. This made me understand what happens to small babies when they *need* to nurse every one or two hours. They really need it, if they don't eat, it aches!

Gosh, I could eat like a horse all day long. No full-signal coming from my stomach. I am hoping it'll get a bit better as baby takes up more room.

Oh, I eat about every 1 1/2 hours. And hey, you went to the gym yesterday right? So you're even hungrier than usual (yes, you can milk that activity for as long as you want)

Sorry to hijack the thread... I was reading the one above this....
I was SO upset when my friend chose to let the baby CIO at 8pm at night and wouldn't feed him, even when he woke crying, until morning. So a baby that had seizures from being underweight and low blood sugar when born, was by two months, forced to wait 9 or 10 hours to eat during the night.
I tried to understand that this is what she needed to survive her day in good spirits and be a good mom, but I couldn't stand it. I was supportive as best I could be, but did tell her that I was worried about his brain development as babies need their blood sugar up to develop well early on. I think that's when she started letting him eat at 5am instead of 6am. *sigh*
However, she does now come to me a lot with questions and they're feeding him and their 9 year old son SO much better since we began our friendship. She's learned about High Fructose Corn Syrup, etc.. and they're all biking and losing weight together. But I still feel for that little munchkin, now almost 9 months old, who sleeps gloriously through the night... but at the detriment of what. Just brain development and who knows what else, that's all.

My son has slept through the night for a long while now and I never cio with him. He is a wonderful sleeper (knock wood) and I bf on demand for 19 months. Just because you feed on demand doesn't mean the babe with be a poor sleeper.
We sure did hijack the thread huh?
I just loved the metaphore pp used.
So back to being hungry all the time. What are you eating or craving? I just had a piece of fish, coleslaw, and a piece of chocolate for lunch. I'm craving past for some reason lately and any Italian food like lasagne and pizza.

Hungry here, too. Especially today! I actually even woke up in the middle of the night last night and had to get something.

I ate ravioli and immediately I followed my co-workers to the street where they have organized a very 'informal' barbacue in the outside parking next to the office... I ate a morcilla (sort of cow blood sausage) sandwich first and a salad sandwich later.
I need to eat all that often, you know, if not my pregnant brain is not going to develop properly

I was an eating machine at lunch time today. For breakfast I had a cup of decaf, some OJ, granola, and yogurt, and then I was ravenous at lunch so I had 2 bean burritoes, a DQ blizzard, a lemonade, and a salad. I am ready to eat again. eek. I can't stop thinking about food! I gained 5 lbs in the first 12 weeks, and I have it in my head that it is a ticket to eat. I know it is not but my belly is telling me otherwise....
