nursing tanks at target

to spin off of the cute maternity clothes thread, at target they have those cute nursing tanks....they are a knock off of the kind i see in mothering ads all the time...the kind where they unhook at the top of tank where the strap starts to fold down to an opening for your breast...

i guess they are good for modesty, but if that is not an issue for you and bfing, i can tell you it is not fun to always be pulling you shirt up in the cold of winter...
plus it hides your post baby tummy.....
also when your milk comes in you will probably need to sleep in some kind of bra with some diapers folded up in there so that you don't wake up in a puddle of milk!

i was excited....

I will tell you from experience that those run small. I have a medium that is useless to me. You should go at least one size up, especially if you are going to use it while pregnant.

: Mine kept riding up because they were too small. One size up might have worked though. I wore mine anyway under my shirts

Another reason I love those (I practically live in the 2 GM tanks I have) is that they are awesome for nursing a babe in a carrier.

I have one of the Target tanks and it does run smaller. Just echoing the "you might want to buy one size up" advice.

YES YES YES, those *do* run small. I'm usually a small but could easily fit a large in those. But they are a nice alternative to the more expensive GM ones. I have three that I have been wearing like non stop since DS was born in 4-05, and they are still going strong.

Thanks for the heads up. I will check them out when I go.

thanks for the info on size...
i lived in tanks with built in bras after my dd was born, my boobs were huge and i wanted some support but not the confining support of a full on nursing bra....
i would jut pop my boob out of the top of the tank....the nursing ones will make me look a little less exposed!
and ps, some targets carry them and some don't so you can always check target.com and i think walmart.com has a version too.

Gosh, I loved these when DD was little! I still have 3-4 ready for this next little one to arrive.

They do run small. I wear an XS typically and needed a M. But they hold up quite well even when you practically live in them (which I did). Mine are still nice enough for use with #2.

I wore mine all day everyday. It beat wearing a bra all the time, they're much more comfy, and they still kept the nursing pads in place. Plus, they kept my belly covered to BF in the cold winter months.

They're great!!!!

Thanks for the tips. I will definitely be checking these out. They sound *great* for sleeping in! With ds I always had extra prefolds and countours by the bedside ready to sop up the extra milk. Plus, I think my (now) saggy bbs could use the support!

I was JUST reading about these on another board- I had two when DD was new and they ran VERY small and were a very "firm" cotton- not a whole lot of give. But now Gilligan & O'Malley has taken over the Target nursing stuff and they have lots of pretty nursing bras now! The tanks seem a little softer, and they still look like they run a little small, but not insanely so. And they aren't in those obnoxious plastic packages, so you can take a good look before you buy now without having to tear anything open. So I'm going to give them another try this time around

I'm going to have to check these out. I practically live in cami's now with built in bra's. I love wearing them so much more than a bra.

I had 2 of these with DD. I did like that my tummy was covered. But I found I had to wear a bra under the tank or I didn't have enough support. Maybe I am the only one, after all I was like a 36G/H at that point. But with all the layers it became a PITA to get my boob out to nurse!

This time I am just going to get some cheapo tanks ("wife beaters" sounds so politically incorrect but I'm sure everyone knows what I mean!) and cut nursing slits in them, and wear them under everything. It is definitely important to cover your tummy when you are nursing in the winter! Brr!

undercover hippie (ps i am one too!)
i have big boobies too, so i could never jog with a tank bra...but to sleep or laze around th ehouse or run to the grocery with a hoodie on top....yes!

i have still YET to find bra that fits, makes my bbobs look pretty, and is comfy...

i am a 34 D not preg or post pardum, but a 36-38 dd -e preg or post, and the distnace between my boobs and my shoulders is very short, so my straps are ALWAYS sliding off my shoulders (pain in the butt) OR if i wear a sports type bra i have the una boob, not very sexy....not that i care often...but if i have a una boob and preg belly (or a post pouch) i can feel quite dumpy...my torso looks like waves of lumps!

i got some bravado bras and they have the sprots bra feel but make your boobs look a little more shapley (i never used them nursing, just preg) but they hurt on the waist strap...it seemed to always fold over on itself and rub me wrong.

so suggestion on bras at all???
