HELLO EVERYONE!

What exactly is a HOMESCHOOLING CO-OP? What does it do?

What are the benefits of joining one?
Is there a cost?
Please tell me as much as you know in detail!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Some people already answered your other post on this issue from last night.

i am lazy so I will answer here. all co-ops are different. the one we are currently with is an erichment thing and highly organized.

for elementry ed we take kids k-6 (according to the grade they would be in in public school. so no 4 year olds in kindergarten)
we meet everything thur. 8:30-12
24 weeks a year
subjects covered are Art, drama, music, science, history/geography, PE, and perhaps creative writing.
cost is a $40 membership fee plus $60 per student with a $400 family cap (high school is considerably more)
all parents must volunteer for 1/2 the class time. so either 12 weeks for full days or 24 weeks for half days.
teachers are both parents and professionals who volunteer
class size is limited to 15 kids per class.
