JD was born via c/s Friday May 18, 10 lb 5 oz, 21 inches long
I had him on my chest immediately, all squishy and slimy, and he latched and nursed while I was being sutured.
It was not as healing as I imagine the VBAC I had planned would have been, but for a C/S, it was as healing and positive as I think possible. The mood I felt in the room during the surgery was that the medical team all knew what I wanted from the C/S and were excited and happy to make my plans happen... they even had the pathology dept "look the other way" so I could take my placenta home (state regs say a placenta from a c/s is a regulated biohazard, but not if it had been vaginally birthed
: )
My birth bead necklace was in the OR with us.
Thanks for all the positive vibes you mamas sent... I think they helped.
Just got home this afternoon... more later.
