i plan to take as many pictures as i can and get more experienced and get some more children's photos on there and hopefully start a little side business using that site. has anyone started their own side business as a photographer? any pointers? also what do you all think of the pictures? any that i should take off?

Nice photos...

From the looks of it, it appears you've got the "eye" for a good picture. A handful of them really have a nice capture, and composition to them.

One of the biggest pointers I love to offer is practice as much as you can with all sorts of subjects, and lighting. I'm a (100%) natural light lover - so I recommend having a camera with/on you when you venture out as much as possible! You just never know when an opportunity for an incredible picture may arise.

I'm inching closer and closer to pushing my photography as a paid venture - right now I mainly do/offer it as a gift, favor, etc...

You can see some of my photography in my signature ~ Good luck.

I agree, practice practice practice! Also look at examples of work that you like a lot! I have a whole list of photographer's blogs that I look at daily. And when photographing people the best time is in open shade and/or right before sunset. Try to stay away from harsh shadows and spotty light. What do you like to photograph the most? let me know if you want my list of photographers I check out! Good luck!

Oh, and here's my site - kellinicolephoto.com
