Mom on CraigsList quit BFing after one month..

On our local CL (PDX), a Mom posted her pump for sale. She said she had a baby in April but has come to the conclusion that she doesn't make enough milk for him (she was exclusively BFing, not pumping). So she's given up and is selling the pump.

Ahhhhhh. I am just not in the right frame of mind to email her right now. And my email (advice) would be completely unsolicited.

If you came across this, would you email? Part of me wants to email and offer advice. But I've done that before and got rather scathing replies.

just e-mail her a quick little note about LLL and how if her baby is growing it means there's enough milk. what's a scathing e-mail in response vs. maybe someone who needs a little support?

i've gotten some great responses from unsolicited craigslist e-mails i've sent out.

I'd probably send her something brief with the Kellymom Low Supply page linked. I swear I post that on mainstream boards at least 10x/week, and it's usually pretty well recieved.

I've emailed a lady on craiglist once. She was getting rid of formula samples bc she had a baby and was breastfeeding and didn't need them. I emailed her a "Way to go, you rock!!!"

I couldn't help it. She probably thought I was crazy though. She did write back to say thanks.

I have emailed several times about things that I've seen on there.

One was a lady who thought she couldn't give enough milk for her twins and another for a double stroller. ( gave lll links and links for slings!)

I can't succcessfully pump anything out but DS is getting more than enough milk...Remind her the baby is better at it, than a pump ever can be!!
