Baby SPY is here!

And I got my "banned" VBAC!!

Knowing that we were going to be having the scheduled C/S talk with dr. on Monday, we decided to try a few induction methods on Sunday (due date). We went walking, drank RRLT, and around 8:30 or 9 pm, we tried out the acupressure points. By bedtime, I was contracting regularly but not too hard yet so I was able to sleep, but sleeping did not stop the contractions. Around 3 am, DS wandered into our room and shortly after the combination of contracting and getting kicked by a 2yo sent me downstairs where I alternated between computer, couch, toilet, and yoga ball. Around 4:30 I sent DD3, who had fallen asleep on the couch, up to get hubby and have him sleep on the couch so he'd be near when I needed him. Around 5 I decided I needed a break and laid down on the couch and contractions settled for a bit, back to regular but manageable. I decided it was time to get the show on the road and got back up and then into the shower where things picked up with the extra pressure from baby. I let the water fill the tub and stayed there until it started to get cold. Around 7:30 I started to think it was time to head to the hospital and take my chances (getting there too early meant them calling for a c/s and either fighting it or having one). I let hubby know and he went out to let my grandparents know (they showed up to visit one full week earlier than expected!! which freaked me out at first but worked out great). We left for the hospital around 7:45, once I convinced myself that I wanted to get off the yoga ball (oh how I wanted to take it with me!!!). We arrived around 8 and went straight to L&D where I got changed and around 8:15 the nurse checked me. She said I was 5-6 (bad news) and my water broke while she was in there (worse news for VBAC because it meant they couldn't send me home because I wasn't in active labor). She started the process for checking me in and calling for the C/S. My doctor came in and checked me and said nope, she's really closer to 8-9 and very stretchy. Because of the C/S policy, she went to find a second opinion and by the time she got back with one that nurse said I was complete with a lip. So, C/S was called off and the nurse went back to admitting me so that I could deliver. It took 3 tries for an IV and a million papers later I was ready to push. Ouch, ouch, ouch I missed my Stadol . I have never ever screamed so loud or long as pushing that little guy out. Hubby told me later that he was trying really hard not to laugh and on the inside, so was I because I thought I sounded so ridiculous and I was probably scaring the poor 1st timers on the wing. But 1 contraction/set of pushes later and baby was out, which was good because I thought I was going to die and did NOT want to go through another round. I usually like pushing but wow. Anyway, he's got a ton of dark hair, just like I'd imagined and just like his oldest sister and he's just beautiful.

We are both doing great and will go home tomorrow (which is now today because my laptop battery went out last night while I was trying to post this). I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture, if I can remember my photobucket password .
