I found a girl's name I want to offer to all of you....

Because I really think it is beautiful. Ironoically enough, I read it in some mainstream parents magazine yesterday.

Traeh. (Heart spelled backwards). I'm assuming it's pronounced Tray-eh. I think it's so beautiful! (But I've fought too long & hard for Hollis, there is NO WAY I'm giving that one up now.)

Do you guys like it? Anyone want to put it on their list?

That is very pretty! I pronounced it the same way you did.
I won't be using it, but it is a very sweet name.

I like the sound of it... but I have a weird thing about these "XYZ spelled backwards" names. To me, it's almost like naming your child the reverse/opposite of that... for instance, Nevaeh might be Heaven backwards, but what's the opposite of Heaven? Umm, yeah... That's just how they strike me.

I think Hollis is great!

Huh?

Hmmm...not so much on the backwards names. I'm more of a traditionalist, well except for the Banana thing.

Now, see, that's a good question. It's not necessarily a bad thing!

I threw the backwards thing in there because I thought some might find it "neat", but honestly I thought it just had a beautiful, beautiful sound to it. Like I would use it without it being backwards for anything.

Whew, then I don't feel quite so crazy!!

I have to agree, like I said before, that the sound of the name is lovely. I might spell it Treya or something more like that (though that reminds me of Trey and I never liked the name - as a small child I knew someone by that name and could NOT figure out why the named their child TRAY!). It actually reminds me of Atreyu from The Neverending Story, but prettier.

Nothing..."near the holly" bushes" or similar. Doesn't matter to me.

Although I love Tr- names, it kind of makes me think of a Tracheotomy. :

That is cracking me up. Next time I meet someone named Tracy I'm going to think "tracy-otomy! ow!"

No backwards names. Ick.

my daughters name is Nevaeh Grace. Folks ask about it all the time....I just explain that is heaven backwards...and the grace comes from Gods grace for keeping us alive during my very scary delivery. I just say it means heavenly grace

Reminds me of another name I like...Taryn. Love your daughter's name BTW. I'm glad you went with Hollis - it's so pretty.
