We see a paed for the kids' care as my older son needs paediatric follow-up for his neurofibromatosis. All three kids had an appt today. The good news was that everyone was great! And we got there *early* (big bow for me!)
Alden was in the 95% percentile for both height and weight. She *didn't* try to retract (and even spoke of the Canadian Paediatric Society's Genital Examination Guidelines for kids). She asked if we gave vit. D drops (we don't). She just smiled and said that hypercalcemia and rickets were on the rise. Then she asked what the vax plan was, and I said I didn't know (I am so chicken to try and debate it with her -- besides, she only needs to know yes or no, right?) I told her that we had delayed the other kids until at least a year and that I would let her know what our plan was. She dropped the issue (yay!) but when we were leaving said we could come back anytime for the vaxxes (um, no thanks!). She did a nice exam of him (totally not necessary but still it was fun showing his perfectness off). We talked about Alden's reflux and she said she didn't recommend treatment at this point and that he sounded in the normal range (so didn't push meds). And that was it. No hassles. Yay!
