I just found the best babysitter!!!

We have never used a typical teenage babysitter but i got a new job and I have to there at 4 while DH doesn't get home until 5:30. I called one of the girls from my church and she cam over to babysit. She took the kids outside with the bug vacuum and sucked up bugs with them. She painted with them and let DD paint her arm with a snake. DD was thrilled b/c the babysitter didn't wash it off.

I am just so happy that I found someone who doesn't just sit and watch tv but genuinely enjoys playing the kids...just had to brag!!!

Congrats on the great find. When I was in high school , I was that babysitter I lived in the country and didn't go to church, though, so I didn't get to babysit very much (Except my brother)

I am so happy for you. I recently found the PERFECT babysitter / mother's helper and it was such a huge relief knowing my dd would be having fun with someone she really liked and who liked being with her in return.

Yay! Teen-age baby sitters can be awesome if they like little kids. They still have just enough of that "kid" energy and enthusiasm to make them lots of fun.

YUP!!!!

Our perfect babysitter is just past her 14th birthday. She is amazing, fun, safe, responsible. Did I mention she is fun? Our three kiddos love her. Yes, I know three kids is alot of responsiblity for a young teen. We have a built in support system all around her, but she never seems to need it. We also pay her very well for her time... 10 bucks an hour, plus we let her order whatever take out she and the kiddos want, OR we gather all the stuff for her to make pizza with the kids. Did I mention that when I get home, my kitchen is clean?


She cooks, she cleans, she plays... damn I almost want her as MY wife.

I wish I could be that kind of babysitter, but the kids I watch never want to do anything but watch Sesame Street and Little People videos. On Wednesday I tried to get the boys I was watching to come see a family of skunks that was walking around in their backyard (so cute!!!) and they didn't even glance over. Sad!

Good for you! We have some college girl babysitters that are fantastic.

And they teach DS so much!! I love that he has great people to spend time w/ besides just family.
