I would really like for dd to go to an alternative school, but don't anticipate being able to afford it until she's maybe 10 years old. I know some alt. schools have a need-based grant, so I just have some questions, if anyone here has used that resource:
Were you on the wait list for a longer period of time than the families who could pay full cost?
Did you volunteer at the school for a reduced rate? If so, how many hours a week and what did you help out with?
Did your child have different expectaions placed on her/him than the kids whose families did not receive assistance?
Do you know what percentage of the children received assistance?
Was the grant ever revoked in a sudden financial emergency? Are there time limits on how long a family can receive a grant?
Thanks, everyone!
