After the disappointing result with the PA Senate Bill (see "Pa Breastfeeding Bill Gutted" thread), it is now all the more important that we turn our attention to PA House Bill 1072. The "Right to Breastfeed Act" is currently identical to the original Senate Bill 34. So it has the important "rights" language. However, like the senate bill, it does not currently have an enforcement provision. That means that it states a right to breastfeed in public but does not include any way for a woman who is harassed or discriminated against to complain or otherwise stop the bad conduct. So, since a right without a remedy is no right at all, House Bill 1072 needs some work but is in its current form a great start.
