Anyone else ticked off at Shane's comments. "We're not looking for your type!" "What type?" "Overweight!" She was a crappy dancer. Why not say she was a crappy dancer and leave it at that? That really bothered me!

Anyway..Looking forward to this season! We don't even have tv reception but I take the rabbit ears out of the closet and hook them up to watch this since they don't put it on DVD..Yep, I'm an addict!!

There have been a few times when I thought the judges comments were out of line and unnecessarily harsh. I didn't like the other night when they were picking on some of the men for being too feminine .... even if the boy couldn't dance, he was giving it a try and doing what he loved. I guess I just accept this show to be more accepting of people when it comes to gender roles.

I do love the show tho and will be watching

What did you guys think of the girl whose mom was being treated for breast cancer and whose one wish was for her to try out for SYTYCD? No pressure, whatsoever! She was really good though, but I thought that was a crazy request from the mom!

The quarterback turned ballet dancer was so desperate for his father's approval and he wasn't getting it at all.

When he was told he was going to Vegas, the first one he called was his dad. Bless his heart. And then the dad sounded happy at least.

It almost made me cry!

Note to dad: Your son is a ballet dancer, ok?

I was so proud of the son.

Yeah, that was really great. I haven't seen anyone who has really caught my attention yet. Well, I think Hok is awesome. I can't wait to see when they actually start dancing more.

Did anyone see Benji's sister, Lacey??

I completely missed her and they never mentioned her name. Just wondered if she made it or not.

The ballet dancer got cut fast though! First round!

It will be interesting to see who makes the top 20 tonight!

It is TONIGHT? Thanks for the reminder!

it is interesting abuot the relationship between the ballet dancer and his dad. my DH and i nearly cried over it.

his dad said that he was "supportive" but the son didn't want "support" what he wants is "acceptance." without acceptance, 'support' is hollow. and those of us who are strong and know ourselves already can handle it, but when you're still a teen, and still figuring it out, it's not easy to live with--it hits hard.

i remember those years.

Woohoo....Hok made it!!!

I am not so sure about Lacey. I don't think she is as good as Benji.

It was interesting to see Travis' brother, Danny. I am anxious to see how he does...they seem to think his ego is too big.

They really play up the drama don't they? Not sure about Lacey either..She seems REALLY young!!!

I feel like a lot of the guys aren't going to be very strong all around dancers. They kept telling them "You're only good at what you do but we're going to take you anyway!" That's not fair to the girls who seem more well-rounded.

There were several of the girls that I'm glad made it but I can't remember their names right now!! It's been a looooong week and I'm tired!

That's hilarious, I was trying to think of who she reminded me of. You hit the nail on the head.

DH said the same thing!

I was so suprised Lacey made it. I think she was trying to stand out but she completely looks like she stept out of Ashlee Simpsons closet. I was suprised the one blond girl didn't get in with the yellow top because all the judges liked her I just think they already filled the 10 spots so no room was left.

The judges did say several times that they had a hard time picking the girls b/c there were so many good ones! They even asked a bunch of girls to come back next year b/c they DID want them in their top 20..I'm worried about the boys this year though!

I am having my second so you think you dance baby! I went into labor with DS during season one right after the show was over one night and I am 34 weeks now!! Three siblings made it this year! Travis' brother, Benji's sister and the ballroom dancers sister!!! I love this show!
I wonder how many of the siblings would still get on if they didn't advertise that they were related to previous talent.

Yeah, the men aren't the best this year. I thought that one guy they kept calling "weird" was pretty amazing. He does seem a bit nutty, though.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the days it's on? Does it have a set schedule?

It was a good show, but no one really stands out to me. I knew they would have Hok in the top 20, that was a given! Hopefully as we get to see them dance more they will have more personality. The only ones I can remember are Hok, Benji's sister, and Faina (Stanislav's sister!).
