My daughter is coming when she wants.

Not when I want.

Not when DH wants.

When she wants. I'm absolutely through "urging" her out. Its frustrating as hell and I cry when it doesn't work.

So - I surrender. She's in control - she chooses when she comes. I'm along for the ride on this one. The teacher here is her. Not me.

I had the same revelation a few days ago. I was so frustrated and mentally drained willing this labor and baby to come on. I have resolved to just spening the time I have left before the baby comes to doing things with my daughter and dh while I can devote myself to them. It will come...... it will come.

Just last night, after spending two days brooding over no baby yet, I had this moment where I realized - OMG! Our lives are going to change drastically when this baby is born! Why do I want to rush it? DS was in bed (by himself! Remember the transition from family bed at 2.5 yrs old to his own room?) and I was making popcorn, about to watch a DVD with DH. Who knows what will be going on for us when this baby is born, when we'll have downtime like that again? And it scared me, because I've been so focused on preparing STUFF for the baby and wanting labor to start. And don't get me started on DS becoming a big brother and not being our little prince anymore - it's happy but also sad, KWIM?

Anyway, I totally relate.

That's so true. What exactly am I rushing for? I'm not going to remember being uncomfortably pregnant in 2 months. I'm going to have a newborn and a toddler. I'm not going to remember anything about being pregnant - let alone what it feels like to sleep for more than 2 hours at a stretch. Maybe I'll just take my time and ENJOY my last few days/weeks as a mother of 1 amazing almost 2 year old.
