Norah Rose was born via c/s Mon May 21st after 23 hours of labor (11 hours of pushing). She was plenty small enough and in the perfect position. It is a total mystery why she wouldn't come down past -1 station. We did everything to try and get her out and eventually I was just totally emotionally exhausted and got the feeling that I needed to get her out before she went into distress. Her hb never wavered through the whole labor. There at the end my labor just stopped altogether and our efforts to start it again didn't work. So we transferred for a c/s even though I was terrified of going through surgery again. I really don't know what I could have done differently other than just wait it out. That was an option but we've been waiting for this baby for 4 years and I just wanted the wait to be over. I'm pretty proud of myself though. I can't believe I hung in there so long.
She was 7 pounds 2 ounces 19 inches and very healthy! 10 days past edd. Apgars 8 and 9. 2 pounds smaller than her brother who was c/s for CPD.
We had a good c/s experience. The staff treated us very well even though I didn't have documented prenatal care. Physically, I forgot how bad it is. And it's doubly hard having an older child at home.
