My DD had white spots on her top teeth too. I discovered them on on her first birthday. I took her to our small town dentist who basically patted my head and said nothing to worry about - more flouride

, keep brushing ( I sooooo wanted to believe her!) Fast foward about two months, DD teeth are starting to chip and crack!!!! I take her to another dentist in the city who tells me I need to stop nursing, and DD will most likely have to be hospitalized and loose her front teeth.

: FORTUNATELY she was a new dentist who said she didn't feel comfortable with our case (the feeling was mutual!!) and she referred us to our current dentist who we love. He is very pro-breastfeeding and although the decay had progressed too far to save her four uppers (my poor sweet girl) he made every attempt.
I'm not telling you this to scare you but if I had it to do over again, I would have been alot more pro active in finding a dentist familiar with early tooth decay ( I was in huge denial, I had even taken two classes on early childhood carries) and one that is pro-breastfeeding. DD is two and our dentist encourages us to keep breastfeeding, reassuring us that the benefits of BF far outweigh any negatives.
