Any brownie leaders here?

My dd is going to be in brownies next year. The troop leader is new and doesn't have her badge book yet. She encouraged me to see if we can earn a few badges in India when we go this summer. Can anyone give me some requirements for specific badges that would pertain to our trip? Thanks!

We-ell...not currently a GS leader, but last time I checked, Brownies earn Try-its, not badges.

You can buy the Try-it book at the council store or here:
http://goshop.girlscouts.org/gsusaon...E+GIRL+SCOUTS+

They also have a combined set of the Try-it book and the Brownie handbook for $20.

I'm a Brownie leader She could do the Travel Right Try It-she would need to do 4 out of 6 activities. They are
"Be Prepared": List 5 "Safety Smart"rules to follow whenever you take a trip. Make checklists to put in your backpack or luggage.
"Busy Kits":Put together a small bag of things to keep you busy n the road
"Scenery Scavenger Hunt":Make a list of 10 things you expect to see on you trip. Check off the items as you go along.
"Travel Journal":Create a travel journal for your trip.
"Sing a Song":Make up a song about traveling.Make up hand gestures to go with the song.Sing it with your troop and/or family on your next trip.
"Pack it Up":List different things you would need to pack for these different trips-an overnight at a friends;a 2 hour car ride;a day at the beach.

Let me look thru my book and see what else she could do.

Some of the try-it names listed on the list of insignia sounded like they might have something to do with exploring family history. Are there any like that? I'm acquianted with USAmma enough to know they're probably visiting family.

Thanks so much! I think she can do the Travel Right one for sure. She has already done a few of those things and plans to keep a journal of her trip.

I found a directory of Girl Guide troops in the area we are going to be staying and I hope we can meet one and take some photos.
