It is amazing. He is amazing. MH is amazing.

I'm more of a lurker on this forum, but I was addicted to it!
Little Vladek James Jasikoff was born at 10:58 am on Tuesday May 22nd, 9 lbs. 5 oz. to everyone's surprise! And 21.5 inches long.
Things are going well. We are slowing getting to understand each other and each day has its own challenges and rewards. Thursday we were discharged from the hospital and are all eager to get settled and rest!
At my Monday morning Dr.'s appointment it was decided that I needed to be induced (41 wks 1 day). The poor babe had almost no amniotic fluid (they could not even measure it). My MW could not recommend waiting a day or two for the level to rise (trust me I asked!). So I had the pleasure of going directly to the hospital and dabbling with Pitocin, which I have all but blocked from my memory. The contractions ended up being every 1.5 minutes lasting for 1 minute. I could not relax or breath through them effectively. My body and brain started to melt down. After several hours of the intense, unrelenting, stabbing pain, and not much progress (an increase of 1-2 cm) I feel in love with an epidural! Pure bliss! I literally smiled for the next 5 hours. Once the epidural was started the time clock started and it never stopped. We barely made the 1cm/hr guideline.
Then the timeclock for pushing him out began. And I pushed for 2.5 hrs ( the threat of a c/s loomed for the majority of it, but luckily the doctor was busy with another c/s so I had an extra half hour). And I've also blocked out most of the pushing process, but needless to say it was all so incredibly worth it! Ugh, the timeclock was so much more stressful than it needed to be. So in the end, the birth was not a true Bradley one I hoped for but very much Bradley inspired and I am ecstatic the birth was vaginal and with very minimal tearing.
Breastfeeding is going abit easier today now that my milk is coming in. Hopefully things continue to look positive!
Lots of luck to everyone!
