Get some barley water, feed yourself and her with it. Better still, tear that bloody book up and use it to boil the water to MAKE the barley water
Just because DD has a fever doesn't mean you will- you're older and you have a full working immune system. You're older, stronger. It's not time to panic yet.
Gentle healing to her

We are used to the snow! I grew up in Green Bay, Wi, and we now live in the Hudson Valley in NY and get TONS of snow here! That is wonderful that you are going to have a homebirth! I am trying to talk my husband into it, but he is such a nervous nellie!

Hi Feb Mamas! Congratulations to all! It's so exciting to join my first DDC on MDC...Looking forward to getting to know all of you over the coming months!

I'm originally from NC, USA but have lived in China for the past 3.5 years. I have a 2.5 year old daughter and realized three days ago that I'm pregnant again. This baby was conceived on Mother's Day and was coincidently the last day that my dd nursed. She had her last feed on Sunday morning and then didn't even ask to nurse on Monday morning or since (she was only nursing in the mornings).

I think I'm due around 2/3...right around the time of Chinese New Year 2008. By the way, if babies are born before Feb 7 it will be a Golden Pig (a very auspicious zodiac sign) or a Earth Rat if born after the 7th.

No symptoms here...except a bit of early onset "baby brain." Under normal circumstances, I'm really not the type to forget my zip code when I go to the post office or lock myself out of the house twice in a week

Good luck to all!

Feb 08, but probably will birth in March. I'll tell everyone I'm due in March, so I don't have to hear all the sweet supportive advice about how to get my Doctor to induce me. I'll birth at home, and won't induce. Last baby came just shy of 44 weeks, and I'm willing to go the distance with this one too.

Hi! I lived in Gui-Zhou for a while, in a town called Duyin at a teacher's college there (Qian-Nan Zhou-yu Shui-yuan). I miss it!

I contacted a MW within a couple of days. This is his first baby, but my 4th. He's very nervous, so I wanted to kind of get things settled so he wouldn't worry so much. He'll be in Iraq during the birth. I found a MW who will do a HBAC and takes our insurance. So far she seems like a good fit.

Kiley, I've gone to 43.5 weeks before now- part of me is hoping for a very late baby born on the 29th (my second, however, was born at 37.5 weeks- nature loves surprises.)
Welcome Melanie!
Lora, glad to know you're still healthy.

Flapjack: I loved your recommendation for "What to Expect" With my first, I was addicted to reading it. With this one, though it's still early, I hadn't even remembered that I had it sitting dusty somewhere till I read this thread. Hang in there with the m/s. Mine hasn't hit too much yet, but I'm just waiting...

I can't believe how many mamas there are with a Columbia, MO connection . My SIL lived there for around 6 years and we visited all the time. I do love that town!

ShanghaiMama: Now I will have to look up the meaning of the signs. Earth Rat doesn't sound too exciting, but what do I know?

As for me, definitely joining the club! I got a very clear BFP today, even though I was sure I was pregnany already.

So far I am feeling ok. In some ways, it feels exactly like pregnancy with my son, but in one big way it feels different...I am SO emotional! Even when there is nothing wrong, I feel like I could burst into tears if something went poorly, and I am not the crying kind! With my son, I only felt hungry and tired at this point, but the past few days, I have been hungry, tired, and needy.
My DH and I both have a "feeling" that we are having a girl this time, and I don't know if it is possible that this early in a pregnancy that the different hormones from having a girl or a boy would result in this hormonal ebb and flow.
Anyone who has had a girl already have any thoughts?

Thanks!!! Can't wait to enjoy the next 9 months with you all!!!

I just found out today and I'm in total shock! I'm due 2/10

Congratulations, Greeneyes and lovetobemama!!

ltbm, I have a confession to make. In nearly-new sales and the like, that's one of the books that I actually deliberately hide so people have to rummage to find a copy. (The others are by Gina Ford...)

I haven't posted on MDC in ages, but now I'm back! I wasn't online with my first child because I was having a crazy life at the time, but now, I would love to have a DDC! (it took me forever to figure out what that meant! lol)

dh and I decided in April we wanted another (dd is 4 1/2). counted days, he took a day off in May, got downsized from his job days later, so of course it took! lol I had a faint line at the dr last Wed and a totally positive Friday and Sunday. gotta love seeing those extra lines! I'm due around 2-8. will chat more later, but dd and I are leaving on a 3 week trip today and I have to finish packing! lol

oh symptoms, with dd, I was great for the first 3 months and then had MS at least once a day for the entire rest of the pg. I'm hoping I don't follow that pattern this time! lol have the sore breasts, some dizzyness (didn't realize that could be a pg thing!), tight feeling in my tummy and totally mommy brain! lol although my friends tell me its too early for me to use that as an excuse! lol

My supply has really dwindled down a lot. DS is only 8 months so I'm praying I don't dry up before he's 1!

I'm tandem nursing my nearly 4 year old and my 17 month old and so far no change in my supply. I was able to nurse through my last pregnancy with no change at all so hopefully I will be able to do the same this time.

I'm due either 2/2 or 2/11... depending on which period I go by. (I got two back to back so am unsure which one was the real one.

Well, i haven't done the math on a date yet, but I guess I'm here too. This is far from planned, or even a surprise-- it's an absolute shock. We were actually saving up for Mike to get snipped, hoping to have that done within the next six months. So... yeah. I'm pretty sure we're looking at February, probably with a date toward the end but a birth toward the begining (mine tend to come a bit early).

I'm due 02/01/08 with baby # 2!

I can't believe I only found this thread now. My edd is 2/11/08. This will be our third. We've been trying for over 2 years, so we're really excited it's finally happened again!

Ah, What to Expect. I read everything while I was pregnant with my first, including those (three of the ?four titles). Then Bean was born and I was trying to figure out if he was normal or what. I quoted something from What to Expect-- The First Year, and how Bean wasn't there. My sister laughed at me and said, "They lied to you about pregnancy. They lied to you about labor. They lied to you about birth. Why do you expect them to start telling you the truth now?" It was an excellent point, one which my Swiss-cheesed mind had failed to consider. I closed the book and never opened any of them again.
